Thank you soo much I soldered a new battery and the key still wasn't working and I checked the 5amp fuse and it was blown and I changed it with the spare and my key works now

Happened to me about a month ago. Put the fob in the ignition and start the car up. Then turn car off and take fob out ignition. Then it will lock and unlock from the fob.

You're suppose to put the key in the ignition when you drive. Do not drive these cars as a keyless car. I learned the hard way with my e60 they have an ignition slot for a reason.

Lol I’ve had my car for over 11 years and it’s just now doing this. I stuck the key in the door and turned it..all of my windows to include my sunroof opened…it was pretty cool but I was scared i wouldn’t be able to put them back up. Inserted my key fob and the car started. Thank you

Funch I’m looking at this with my key fob slashed in half with my soldering kit that just got and new vl2020 battery soldered in to the keyfob that it’s still not working 😬😬

Mine done the same thing unfortunately i had to smash the window to get in because my door wont unlock withe key either once i put my key in the ignition the key went back to normal

Thanks mate was just checking fuses with continuity all seems OK but pulled out no 49 fuse alarm started going reinserted fuse and central locking become active

Need help I replaced both 56 and 57 fuses because they were blown but the new ones I put did nothing to fix the issue of the control center button and key fob not working for 56 I put 15 and for 57 I put 20 my antenna fuse was not blown

I have a BMW x1 2013 drive 2.0 one let is still working as i use it all the time . The other is dead. Ive been told i need a new key as the fob is sealed. Does anyone know if there is a way to kick start it again. I did see a video on using a Drexel to open it and gluing it back together. Can anyone help? Cheers

I know nothing about BMWs, other than it’s a fortune for any fixtures, especially after I had replaced a part in past. But since then I had a few minor issues come up, one of them being this. I’ve learned to research a bunch online before taking it in and I was thrilled to come across your video.
