In todays episode we repair something a little more calming, a little less intense, an OG XBOX S controller. This is one of the more common faults I see and anyone with a soldering iron and a screw driver can perform this repair.

I just soldered a cable from an old mouse on my X360 controller. Still works fine.

Not bad. I figure just about any USB based cord would work as long as it has enough wires.

@@RetroRenegadeRepairs Yeah, the original cable was unrepairable. The wired controller's cable has this quick release thing that pulls the cable and over time the connection breaks. I use the controller on my PC, I don't have an X360, so I don't need that thing, and just a simple cable from a mouse works better than the original because you can twist it all day long and you won't break it. And also, the cable is the same thickness as the original that goes to the strain relief, so it fits great. The only downside is that mine is a bit short.

I believe its the same repair method for the Duke as well. I have found that most Dukes I try to open fall apart though. That old ABS plastic did not age well. Thanks for watching.
