Bet that carburetor had an interesting story behind it...one we will never know for sure. What a triple whammy, though; the wrong carb installed, the carb having a manufacturing flaw, and still not being able to use their edger. That is an active leak with it not running! No way I'd use it, so I can see the owner not using it. You did the customer good on this repair. 🐺🔧

I love seeing a video with my favorite engine from the Stihl pro series 2 stroke! This engine is probably in the top 5 best all time 2 stroke engines ever made! Great power, great power to weight ratio, throttle response is spot on. If you can find one of these trimmers, for gosh sakes just pick it up! I promise youll love it! :) I have an FS85 that i have been using for probably 8-9 years now, and it rips thru anything i throw at it. I also have one of those engines in a Kombi shaft that i built lol! I took the kombi shaft from my km130r and out the fs80 engine on it, wnd my gos what an incredible, versatile tool! To answer ur question IHG, no i wouldnt use a piece of equipment if it was leaking fuel. Way too dangerous. However, it it was vital to finish ex. Rains a coming in the next 5 mins. If make an executive decision to use it haha! Great video my man!

On some carbs the primer bulb is on top of a double check valve. I've got a really old Stihl blower that has a check valve that has failed. No leaks, just doesn't prevent one directional flow. I'm planning on putting a inline check valve since the carb got discontinued. (No aftermarket clones either). Thoughts?
@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE
@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE Жыл бұрын
yes you are correct, I've had one of those check valves fail. Luckily I had a spare one, from a different carb and just swapped it. As far as using an inline valve it should work.

@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE update, got a clone carb that was kinda close besides the throttle linkage. Pulled the throttle linkage off the old carb (brass bar, plate and all!) And slid it into the clone. Hey bro ,what's up? That was very strange and interesting to see where the leak was coming from.
