I never in a million years would have figured that out.

Watching again it sounds obvious. The wheel was flexing. Hindsight 20/20!

My man! I’ve done the same thing. Thought I nailed the problem down just to turn around and redo the job a few times to find a simple solution. Expensive “tuition” payments must be made to become a decent mechanic.

Those tuition bills keep showing up.

Ha! DIY car repairs are ALWAYS longer than you think and more frustrating that you anticipate. Another great video. Sorry about that camera repair. The iPhone video looked fine.

Yeeeeaaahhh.... bearing would have been more constant and probably the same with the CV shaft. I thought maybe a spur on the rotor kissing the caliper or brake pad or warped rotor, but had to be something simpler than your *deep-end* solutions. I had a mechanic friend who replaced two Borg Warner transmissions due to a strange whine, that turned out to be a front wheel bearing. At the end of the day, they're just stories of the LOL factor!

good points. I tinkered with the rotor and the dust guard before digging in to the wheel bearing. Sometimes the car gets the best of us! As long as we have the last laugh - life is good.

I was thinking it was the dust shield rubbing the rotor but damn wouldn’t of guessed that 😂

I had 3 people tell me dust shield!
