I replaced a leaky power steering pump to reservoir hose in a GM car which has 5.7 litre Chevrolet LS1 V8 engine in it & I also pulled the reservoir out to clean the outlet screen which is a filter to stop crap from getting into the pump. It was partially clogged with grass so that was restricting fluid flow to the pump & making it go intermittently stiff but it's all good now !

This happened to my Infiniti m45. I left the car to sit in the cold weather for almost a week while using my very reliable Honda. I would start the car daily but never drove it. When i did decide to drive it, a loud noise was heard from the power steering pump/reservoir. The steering wheel was hard. I shut the car off and noticed the power steering fluid was oozing from the top of the reservoir. The tire pressure had gone really low so I went to add air to my tires. Steering was slightly hard so I added some synthetic power steering fluid. $2 for the fix minus the fluid which I already carried in my car.

Also make sure your car takes power steering fluid and not Dextron 2, I never read what it says on the PS lid until I made a mistake!
@mrmusclecarsuspect53624 жыл бұрын
jlc7300 it is always best to read your car Manuel to make sure your putting the right fluid in the right place.

@Billythekiddnz4 жыл бұрын
I think it's mainly because your fluid looks black and it was in need of a change rather than the sea foam.
