I’ll probably be going through this soon with my 96 ford ranger. I just recently found out it has an axle code on the sticker on the inside of the door jam. It tells what gear it has and whether or not it’s limited slip 8.8 or 7.5… So I’m gonna take a trip to to pull a part and try to find an 8.8 with a limited slip and a lower gear. I’m also thinking about doing an axle flip or possibly removing a couple of the leaves to lower it some in the rear and it most definitely needs new shocks all the way around…😂 Cool video man…

This thing really needed some leaf springs. It was sagging so bad on the right side. I got the shocks on a closeout deal for like 8 dollars a piece so I figured what the heck i'll change those too. Good luck with your axle swap. I've wanted to change my 4.10 superduty to a larger axle but am to scared i'll mess something up.

@@reallifetested2605 It’s pretty much just take it apart and put it back together. But you do have to change the drive gear and the driven gear in the transmission for the speedometer.

Wow, I see why my dad used so many tools. Lol Never seen the leaf springs replaced. I thought it was more complicated to hook up to frame. Looking forward to the other video. Thanks.

I have people ask me that all the time. "why do you need so many different tools" this is a perfect example lol It's nice to have all of that around when you need it. It's funny to think that those 3 bolts are the only thing holding the axle to the frame. 😄
