Thanks, just replaced ours on a 2007. Same Amazon part. Original was disintegrating. Used pliers to work off the old one. Also cleaned up ring and waxed the area since it was exposed.

It's not complicated as you saw. Hardest part was needing pliers to get the rubber off below the surface, as that part was still fairly tight.

good stuff another great video. I have seen this is a part that will need replacing eventually. Thanks for sharing. Being able to see the in's and out's of the FJ is very helpful. The wife and I are still saving for one but it is a definite next on our list of purchases. I have always liked the FJ and its throwback design to the original SUV's. With all the nannies that are sold on vehicles in the last few years, the FJ falls into the category, of having just the right amount of tech, without too much.

@@LiL13izzy7 we are still saving, where i am at, they still sell them new, so hoping that will work out for us, but they are about 40K USD new. still a great vehicle and we saving :)

That's a fair point. I know I have shaky hands, but sometimes it's just faster for me to film handheld. I'll work on making it easier on the eyes. Thanks for watching!

hey brother, i'm having the same issues with my 2011 and i have all the same worn out pieces. been watching your videos as a guide when i come to replace or upgrade. one thing i am having trouble is finding a video on how to replace the seal on the bottom of the front windshield. it's worn like my antenna, cracks and crumbling apart. have you done a video on this?? appreciate any help, thanks.

Good step by step ! Question on the base, under the part you replaced ? I’ll call it the base, …which on mine is lose from the antenna tip, bumping a little each time I go in/out of the garage. I want to tighten it but don’t see on your video any kind of hex nut (or something) to tighten down that base. Did you see anything, or you think I’d have to go up from below, inside the fender somehow ? Thanks !!

I didn't pay attention to that part, but it sounds like you will need to remove the cowl piece to access that. Cowl clips are notorious for breaking. Look up FJ Cruiser windshield replacement on the Forums and you'll see that replacing clips is a necessity whenever removing that piece. Good luck!

@@LiL13izzy7 do you think I’d have to take the windshield out in order to replace the rubber molding that sits on the bottom of the windshield on the outside? I genuinely don’t know.

@@GelasticSnail I'm not 100% sure, but check out the 4:45 mark of this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oZ1nhtqnubHDemQ.html. He's able to pull it off without removing the windshield.

Why didn't you just grab it with some channel locks for leverage and pull the old one off ?? I'm getting ready to replace My garage kept one on a 2014 FJ.
