Thank you, Tom, for another beautiful & relaxing video. The stick you carry reminds me, every time, when I was very young. 6 years old. Grandfather always took me through his farm land & large forest to the pond. Part of the pond shore line was pure white sand which I found many Indian arrow heads. As a small child I copied Grandfather's stick he walked with like you do. Of course I found a stick, which became my "favorite" stick. Every time my family visited the farm & took those walks to the pond, I had my stick. So, the smallest things you do, Tom, brings back a memory from many years ago. Thanks, Tom. You inspire in me in many unknown ways. Keep safe, my friend from far far away.

Tom👍👍 Thanks for taking me along on this beautiful hike along the shore of the Fjord😊 Bright sunny day with the seagulls talking and the wind blowing off the water😎 A sandwich and a wink😉of coffee brewed on the Bushbox...perfect. Video filming was excellent as always👌 I know it's a lot of work going back and forth to retrieve the camera. I've never had a lavvu so can't comment on their usage, but those flaps of material must be there for a reason. I'll wait till you give an update to see the results and solution. Great video my friend and wishing you well and happy travels. Enjoy!

Tom- I enjoyed this video because it is very different from the others. Your photography is great. And the sea coast is a very different venue for your videos. I am continually impressed by how organized you are. I like that you have a place for everything; and for everything a place. I think that is why I identify and enjoy your videos so much. I appreciate the thought that not only goes into the video trips and excursions, but also to how you organize yourself, and your equipment to make things as easy as possible. Tom, thanks for another relaxing and beautiful video. Great camera work! As a pipe smoker too, I always enjoy you relaxing with the cowboy coffee and your pipe. As for the Lavuu, I guess I might have tried gluing the flaps to the back with a bit of waterproof and flexible glue before cutting the flaps off. Also, I have treated the seams of my tarps with waterproof glue which helps with all the small leaks. Keep up the fine videos, my friend.

Hello again Tom, the fjords look lovely and I would like to visit some day, when I pitch my lavvu I have the flaps on the outside and this stops the rain coming in, I have done a few mods to mine as well 1 being sewing a canvas loop on the top so you can hang from a tree or tripod so no pole is need I have also had a skirt sewn around the bottom and this gives extra height and more room inside for my log burning stove and the chimney goes through one of the arm holes. Great video again btw. Atb Stuart

Hello Friend. You made a mistake making a tent from Polish lavvu. The flaps you removed should be outside the tent. This is an additional protection against wetting of the main plating.

I’m sorry guys … but I don’t agree with you 🤔 … if I turn it the holes where you put your hands through will not be able to get closed so the rain can get in that way. Accidentally I’ve had some corrections after the first time I used it ( and I had it inside-out ) hmmmm And besides that … there is some writing on it and I would mean it shall also be on the inside 😊 Anyone else have a meaning about this subject ? I loved your relaxing walk alongside the fjords. The gull sounds were refreshing to this old sailor. I truly don’t understand the modifications to your lavuu. It is designed to be a dual purpose rain pancho and tent. Now you have changed its purpose and have only a tent and there are many tents on the market that are lighter and better wind and rain shelters. It puzzles me. I hope we get to see more of your hiking adventures. Thanks for sharing.

Tom i really liked that site on the water and the sound of the wind and the seagulls was a special site and i liked you how you made your coffee and your wink really cool to see. I could almost envision you paddling your new canoe along that beautiful shoreline. General consences today seems that the flaps belong on the inside but I have seen the original printed instructions and old photos of Polish soldiers sitting in their Lavvus with the flaps on the outside...curious. Now, it makes more sense to me to have the flaps on the outside especially after what you experienced/learned. If you never intend to use the Lavvu as a rain cape, then cutting off the flaps would certainly make the lavvu lighter to carry. I always learn something new from you Tom, thanks so much for sharing this beautiful video, keep safe...

G- day to ya! A good sip of coffee by the water is what the doctor ordered for what ails ya! Lol! A good day for you indeed.. Thanks for sharing! The remedy for the leaks looks to be a good one.. But just incase, bring a 8'x10' tarp to help cover you.. Just a thought.. If it doesn't leak.. Use it as a ground cover/ cloth for your inside bedding! Thanks again for sharing some serenity... Aaahhh ! I needed that , got a VA appt in the A M and not looking forward to it! Travel well n see ya on the trail! GWW... Ooouuuttt!!!

Hello, Tom, since you have a polish " tent", just put a thin plastic foil under it inside. Hardly any weight and it is dry inside, even in wind and rain, it helps. Beautiful video, I love the north and the sea, unfortunately too far from Frankfurt, but I am in the Taunus and the Rhine very much with my Quad / ATV on the road. A waxed based water sealant works excellent. I reccomend the type u brush on it can be applied thicker and will last alot longer keeping u very dry Inside of your Lavuu.
