*the Old Norse word “húndruð” originally meant 120, and it took over the value of 100 only in a second moment. It’s impossible to tell whether the numbers here indicated mean “húndruð” as 120 or as 100.
I know a transcription in runes of such a text doesn’t really have any reason to be, if not as a treat, but yeah…that’s just what it is, bear with me.
Any suggestion and/or observation is warmly welcome.
The lyrics are pronounced as modern Icelandic, instead of using Old Norse pronunciation: e.g. they sing “á” as the Icelandic diphthong /au/ instead of the Old Norse /:a/.

Thank you for the translation ! I saw a few grammar mistakes in the French translation, but it is still a very good one, no worries. The runes really give that "nordic" vibe, it's a very nice touch.

Two tone singing is common in early music, but the third ringing overtone is only found in Tuvan throat singing. Tuvalu is just to the West of Mongolia.

@VaknarOfeigr
@VaknarOfeigr 3 жыл бұрын
@jok.r No, no... Valhalla, does not mean and does not represent paradise, which is a purely monotheistic concept, in paganism, the notion of good and evil does not exist either, it is always a purely monotheistic concept. Don’t take it personally, thank you.
@FlamSparks
@FlamSparks 3 жыл бұрын
Well...not quite. "Monotheism" and "paganism" are *not* religions, and the concept good/evil is not present solely in monotheistic religions. The concept of "heaven/hell", linked to how much believers abide by their god's law, is a key point of Abrahamic religions (that is: Judaism, Christianism, and Islamism), which all originated from the same core religion of ancient Israelites, but doesn't exist solely there. Such a concept doesn't exist in Norse mythology, in which dead people may go to one out five possible afterlife destinations, none of which is related in any way to how believers abided or not by given divine laws, although two of them do regard whether the dead proved themselves worthy warriors or not. By "paganism", we mean any religion which is not Christianism, hence Asatro is only one of the countless creeds which are labelled as such, which may well not be related in any way to each other.
