Dude, I remember the second or third track of Tom's that you reacted to. I commented saying that I though you should really give him another chance because he was deeper than all that. I know I'm a nobody and you had a lot of comments saying the same, but it's SO goddamn cool to see how you went from being someone who though he was decent but kinda corny to one of his biggest supporters. I wish more people outside of reactors would do the same, but it is what it is. He deserves even more praise than he gets to this day. Like you said, he is the truth. Tom's perspective is uncanny. There are very few people who can even see the truth this man sees. Let alone rap it. I used to break my kid's rap cd's. My house has always been a rap-free zone. Then one of my oldest daughters said Dad I want you to listen to Tom McDonald. So I checked out some tracks and got hooked by the truth being spoken in his songs. What Tom and Nova do is incredible. They were destined to be together. Tom is incredibly talented but wouldn't be anywhere close to where he is now without Nova.

Younger guys and gals don't realize that labels won't even fuck with them if they're ACTUALLY gangbangers or drug addicts outside of very certain circumstances. Eminem, for example was a functional addict and got signed before that shit really got out of hand. Thankfully he was able to get his shit together before it was too late, but no matter how good he was, I highly doubt that even Dre would have taken a chance on him. The same shit goes in my favorite genre of metal. A lot of bands I listen to talk about really horrific things. Death, chaos, destruction, murder, suicide, and every dark topic you can imagine. However, the only difference is that most kids who listen to metal are taught that it's just stories being told and it's no different from movies and other forms of art. I grew up on horror movies and always understood that it wasn't real. I played GTA 3 and onward and always knew they were just games. Sadly, for some damn reason... rap is different. I don't know if it's the parents or what, but for some reason, a lot of kids that grow up on rap see it all as being literal and end up following the same path that their favorite rappers claim to have lived.

My one major problem is something that is almost any other rapper such as nf or dax or eminem i could ignore and still listen to his stuff. His political opinions. As a white person, who has majority nonwhite friends, his ingrained message that BLM is bullshit and critical race theory is dumb is completely intrusive and (for me personally anyone can haave their views) opposite to my morals. I love his writing and dear slim is a bop. He simply has made his theme of speaking truth into disrespect and abrasiveness. If he could cal out rap and not critique politics id listen to hjis a shit load, as i love his lyrics. But his *political* opinions are too overbearing and personally offensive.
