Hello Tibi loved this one. My daughter is also Eva, Great name. She is growing fast my friend. You need to learn a bit about mechanical watches if only to flip. Sure I saw a few retro Seikos in that video that I could have not left behind! There was also a radio watch you passed. I need to do the yahoo thing , still not been brave enough

I agree on the name :)), I am "shooting" for a boy next and already have the name, Mihai, witch incidentally is Michael :) haha. I am afraid of mechanicals as they require more time which I'll probably have in 10 years or so...maybe. I did pass on all watches becaue I am looking to downsize and refine my collection, the story behind this decision will be in a next-next video. You MUST get onto Yahoo auction Japan, it is a true treasure trove especially because their watches haven't been tinkered with as much as those on ebay.

It was very nice taking a road trip and meeting your family! In a future video, can you talk about the reasons why you love vintage digital watches? My thing is vintage digital calculators. But your watches are a close second for me.

Yes, that is a good topic actually, will sit down and write a script for it :)

Loved the video, it was great to meet your family and join the excitement of watch shopping and bidding! Would it be possible for you to make a video explaining how you know which battery fits which watch? Some of mine digital (lcd and led) have no battery in them and I am struggling to know what to buy. It's probably me being stupid!!

Nice outdoor market !!! Can you make a small video about batteries gold connector's restoration (mine's are half destroyed) ? Because a buy a high quality lcd watch (1978 Omega's Constellation Lcd), who works but the last owner let old batteries oxidized in it... Thanks for all, bye.

I am afraid I don't know a restoration technique for those parts.

I Can imagine that you would buy a cheap 24k gold plating kit for ~$100 and gently clean parts with fine glass paper, polish - then replate. Usually there is pitting and bubbling so you are better off seeking replacement parts. The parts are so thin it is hard to replate.

Thanks for your help, I will ask to my jeweler... Just one last question, does "diamond polish paste" works on mineral glass ? (sometimes people's say yes, other's say no). Good restorations, bye.

Thanks for sharing the auction video. Cute kid Eva! Is shipping also included with the price or would you have to pay extra afterwards from the seller?
@VintageDigitalWatches2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for the comment. There are quite a few fees to pay beyond the cost of the watch. Here is a video showing the breakdown of the cost: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z7VieLN0taeRcYk.html&ab_channel=VintageDigitalWatches

Interesting video. I found that usually flea market with professional sellers are not interesting at all, better to find the markets with only normal people selling their old stuff. I didn't know that you spent that much money on your watch collection, with the re-shipping and conversion cost, it's not going to be a cheap voice memo. Thanks for getting me interested in old digital watches, I started looking around at the flea markets I go to, and I found a Citizen 8984 for 1€ in ok shape. You do watch LGR Thrifts serie on KZfaq ? He is doing the same kind of videos and it could be an inspiration.
@VintageDigitalWatches4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Yes, true, professional sellers will ask collector prices but that is expected. For a 10.000 yen item I end up paying around 125 USD with all costs (handling, shipping, customs, etc) - I made a video on the channel about this, this means the voice memo will be around 50 USD so I don't mind as i will ,make a good one and probably make a profit. My favorite all time watch so rescuing one is a bonus :) Nice score with the Citizen that is a true bargain. LGR is one of my subscribed to channels and enjoy his videos but I don't have here the same variety of watches in the wild but yes he is a good inspiration. Cheers, Tibi

I think its a great idea if all the watches that you find in a flea market explain us why buy it or not and if is real or not and how do you know
@VintageDigitalWatches4 жыл бұрын
Yes that would be nice but I can't really find digital watches that are worth it in this part of the world at flea markets
