Because it's 1.8 TD. With Mercedes' 250D and 300D and Volkswagen 1.9 TDI, it's one of the most durable engines.

My dad had a 69 Mexico as his first car and he sold it, he wanted a escort agon when I was little so he bought one like this ( exept it was red) and I loved sitting at the back while he told me stories about his mk1. Now 16 I'm in a mechanics corse in collage and fixed multiple cars. Thanks dad for this expensive but brilliant lifestyle.

Reminds me of the video you did a long time ago of the 1992 Ford Courier van where the entire front suspension collapsed due to severe corrosion when you tried to move it forwards, and the driveshaft popped out. Totally rotten, same era, early 1990s Fords. I drove a 1991 Escort van (company vehicle) back in the mid 90s with that engine and it was gutless and pedestrian. Broke down so many times and in the end the input shaft sheared to the gearbox and it got scrapped.
@lagoa222 жыл бұрын
I also remembered the Courier at the time haha I think 90's Fords weren't very corrosion resistant
