I attended this show 3 times. In january 2020, July 2021 and september 2021 and all of these shows were amazing. She is just so lovely, and a great live performer. I've also seen her live with Nightwish in Amsterdam in 2018. Now, that was almost unreal. That was epic. So, so good. These solo shows are completely different, but it's wonderful to hear her sing al these different songs and genres. To me, she's the greatest singer of all time.

Floor's "secret" is the huge amount of air she moves, especially with soft tones. She is in a league of her own. And finally someone who cares for a good mix/recording by the way. 😀

Lungs of a diver, I think if I remember that she said in an Interview: It was told to her she had them by a doctor. But Henno Floor said in a Master class that it wasn't about the amount of air !!!!! She said the less air you have to use to get to a result the better.

@@corneliusantonius3108 With the latter she probably meant the amount of air related to your lung capacity, so avoid using let's say more than 25% for a certain note. But in the case of Floor, that's still more air than most female singers can move because her capacity is larger. But i'm just guessing here, i'm no vocal coach or something. But from what i always hear in her voice, is that it's incredible "airy".

Two things to mention: this song was the best of 2012 (Loreen won with it in 2012) not 2021 and Floor did the song for Beste Zangers from her home studio because she was still recovering from gall bladder surgery a couple of weeks before, not specifically because of Covid although that may have come into play as well. Love your reactions. You couldn't pick a better example of a great vocalist to use for students.

I can relate to your fascination about Floors voice. She is like a sculptor as a musician/singer. Whatever she needs to bring the sound she wants, she just molds (as a sculptor) her voice to the desired effect.

Yes Christi, it was magical. Besides Floor's singing (which is always on point, captivating and magnificent) for me it was the first time seeing her live. After being postponed for 3 times it finally happened! And it was the first concert with a bigger audience (3000) in 2 years. Even outside, waiting for the venue to open, the weather was beautiful, sunny and nice temperature. The audience a mix of diehard Floor/Nightwish fans and newly found 'Beste Zangers' fans. So the atmosphere was really happy, joyfull and everybody really enjoyed this magical show. And afterwards everyting was being cancelled again, so no Nightwish in Amsterdam 2 months after this....

This is Glorious! Floor is Beautiful in every way. The band and backup singers are Glorious! I am not a pro just a music lover and I think since this concert is presented as a Rock n Roll show it will be bass heavy. Isn't this what drives rock music drums and bass? Great reaction as always. I was there and it was a great show, just bought the tickets one week before the show and no regrets at all. There where a few technical problems but this gave Floor the change to talk a little to the public and have some fun. I can't wait for your reaction to Slow Love Slow, you will here Floor how never did before.

Many artists struggle to get anywhere near this level of performance in the studio, with all the additional editing and enhancements. Floor performs to this level, consistently, live. She really is one of the finest voclaists of our time.

She did Slow Love Slow and it was glorious! One of my fave Nightwish songs from Imaginaerum movie about Walt Whitman losing his mind to dementia. This was glorious and better than every other version.

By the way, if you want to know things Floor does and how she does it, like the set list, why not just ask her? Or ask for an interview. I think she is not too closed on those things. And as of the end of March, she will be promoting her own song, so that might be an opportunity as well.

She is delighted to be on stage, too, and it shows. Her skill is absolutely stunning. Not only is she 'one with the music' but her voice appears to have no ceiling. It is just up up up! Lovely! Loved your reaction and the nuances that you highlight and explain. It is always so enriching! I especially liked the diaphanous reference, which describes her voice here so well. It is light, but not thin ... and it fills the spaces without being diluted. Some singers can go high and clear, but their voice is thin. Hers is full even when it is light like this. It is the wall-to-wall richness of it, even when it is sang with a light touch. (sorry for the mixed metaphors and the very all-over-the-place descriptors...). :)

At the beste zangers version she just hade a surgery so that can be the reason that ithis one sonds more color full. And for me being at that concert i can only say it's getting even better if posible.

Great reaction once again, Christi! Keep'em coming! One mention tho: you said bass is little on the hot side in the mix. Take note: You have Sony headphones. They are known for being generally more bass heavy/bass focused headphones than some other labels (specially open design AKG's like 700-series which are more spacious and airy with way less emphasis on bass/lower frequencies -> best for classical music). Sony on the otherhand generally is for more "bass heads", providing more energy and thump to it's listener. This just friendly sidenote for ya. Cheers. :)

Maybe after "Sing my song" she also will be here in Germany much more famous, that many germans wait for her to see her Life. Same what happened in the Netherlands after the "Beste Zangers"-show. This show in Amsterdam would never happened without "Beste Zangers". Aber ich denke, dass ich das auch auf Deutsch hätte schreiben können...😁

No, because I have no idea of what you're trying to say here. She was lucky that she rescheduled this concert to September 2021. The virus was pretty dormant at the time in my country, but I knew omikron was coming. As an old male with an existing condition I did not even consider buying a ticket. I am responsible for a very old cat that will not respond well to going back to the asylum she came from if something happens to me. "Floor doing Hope again?" I have no idea what this means. It is somewhat grammatical English, but it means nothing without context. Explain.

@@franshinlopen2166 It is a lighthearted comment referencing the notion that the pandemic of SARS Covid 2 restricts the ability to breathe but flooding the alveoli with blood stopping the oxygen transfer and the notion of Floor ( The Magnificent) engaging in a concert that highlights open anf free breathing. And , I don't know about you, but Floor sings and even with the darkest subject there is always a feeling of hope and comfort. BTW I am also an old male with pre-existing condition ( 40% lung function for having had TB) and would not have been able to attend such a concert either. Not that we will probably ever get another Floor singing event in Australia again.

I adore Floor but I can't say I'm a fan of this entire concert. It's just too karaoke-sounding to me, but it's still fun to listen to.

I think it is the mix. A lot of the time she's so far back in the mix she seems drowned out by just about everything else. Just my opinion. They also have a ton of reverb on the music and almost none on her which sounds weird. The virtual Nightwish concert was a lot like that, too.
