With this year’s truck inspection blitz focusing on steering and suspension issues, we turned to Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Bobby Simmons who showed us what he looks for when inspecting steering and suspension components on a tractor-trailer. Then have designated spots with bays we can check under the truck.

I prefer taking my truck to the dealer shop they gonna makes sure of anything wrong on underneath some times we can’t see but fortunately the mechanic will find any problems, thanks

okay let me ask you as a driver, what do you mean no rust on the bolts underneath the truck ? Od course there will be a lot of rust everywhere especially those parts are exposed to a snow, salt, water…

What happens if there is something out of line .. something broken ? Something missing? Bent or just wrong??

Now how on Earth is the average driver supposed to check all of that without getting under the truck!? Perhaps I should take my truck to a shop and get them to do an inspection once a month and have it documented so that DOT can't mess with me
