I have NEVER had an ODOT officer be this respectful when inspecting my truck. Ever. That 30 minutes cost that driver about $20 in wages by the time he logged everything and did his reporting for the inspection. Public folks, don't let the ODOT or any other government agency try to convince you about how respectful they are. I have been pulled in for an inspection twice in the same day without a single violation found. We are supposed to be exempt for 30 days from being inspected. The ODOT officer told me my first inspection was at a different weigh station than his, so it didn't count for him. He inspected me again also finding no violation. Respect my ass.

Great video, drivers are afraid of pulling into inspection stations and I always ask why,, you make sure you have all your ppwk in order and up to date, do a proper pre-trip to the best of your knowledge. if anything is questionable, don't leave till it's fixed properly. Safety is number one.

They always inspect semi trailers that are so clean. Understandable for learning purposes. What would be nice is to also show an inspection video on one that's dirty and maybe has minor and major defaults.

They are not describing what they are inspecting or why. And they didn’t even use a real truck driver, that’s Shane from safety and he works at May’s Salem Terminal most of the time

And he asked for your med card. well you dont have to show it anymore its connected to your license. as soon as they run your cdl it will tell them if you have current med card. also failed to check th ABS! log book! So this inspector FAILED this inspection!

I am sorry but when your checking wheel nuts you can't just run your fingers over them, use a bloody torque wrench to check them properly, in the UK we use hi viz pointers to show the driver if they are, have come loose as the pointers won't align up with the next one, any way, why has this inspector pulled a almost new truck up? why doesn't he pick up on the old jalopies that are rusty, IF this a set up its badly done.

Do NOT ever press your foot on the brake to let them check your brakes, in doing this, YOU are HELPING them incriminate YOU, if your brakes are out of adjustment, you will let them know, just by putting your foot on the brake!. Inform them, politely of course, that you know they have a tool they can use to determine if the brakes are out of adjustment. They are NOT required to let you know this. You are expected to follow the directions given, even if it violated your rights. Having you use your brakes against you is very common, but, you have the right, The 5th Amendment, NOT to incriminate yourself.....EXERCISE THAT RIGHT!!
