I'm disabled, & live in fl. After 5 yrs. on waiting list i now am grateful to live in a apartment. Anyone's live can turn upside down in a heartbeat.

It's so sad that this is happening all over our beautiful country. This just didn't happen overnight. Thank you for showing us the reality, because media only likes to show a few places. This is a much bigger problem, it's a USA problem, not a us and them! How do we even fix this? Keep safe!

I just moved out of Hudson, FL, Pasco County. This is absolutely all true.

Many are one paycheck away to living in a camp!! I wish that I could help all people in situations like that!!! I was homeless until a friend took me in, unable to work now! IT'S NOT easy!!!!!

Thank you for doing this. I have worked in Pinellas/Pasco homeless outreach for over 30 years. I know where most of those camps are. No one wants to believe me when I say there are at least 5000-10000 uncounted homeless living in those areas. I know from first hand head counts that I observed over 5000 uncounted homeless in Pasco, and that was in 2015. It has only gotten worse since 2020.

SOOOO many people are just one illness away from homelessness. It's scary.

It's sad to see Tampa is my birth town , I'm not homeless but I'm disabled senior now and can't afford to live where I was born, but I manage to keep a roof over my head by the grace of God

Having grown up in that area. It’s good to know even as dangerous as the area can be, there are also a lot of good people out in those woods… life gets rough, everyone has a story.

This is a great video series. A lot of the homeless problems in rural areas are hidden. You have to go into the forest to see the homeless camps. Some of the camps have gotten big, hundreds of people.

These camps are all over Florida. We have them in Broward County too. The state government is blind to these issues it seems.😢

Used to live in North Pinellas at the line of Pasco County. Hwy 19 from Holiday to Hudson has always been depressing, once you cross the Pasco County line, but I had NO idea of all of the homeless camps! So sad and scary ... thank you for sharing. We moved back to the Midwest five years ago.

Looks like a vacated camp area turned in to a dump. The absence of any tents or cardboard shelters leads me to believe they have defunct garbage collection utility. I have never seen so many homeless-peopleless ghost dumps. Wow.

Moon Lake ! I've lived in this area for 64 years and I've worked with the homeless for over 30 years. Every county has them. It is growing exponentially. Many of them come down from up north. I've seen it for years. West Virginia! Sad........

Homeless or not, you need to be accountable for cleaning up your crap.

People give clothing, flashlights, food and other items to the homeless in Pasco… you are witnessing how the generosity ends up. Thrown away like garbage. They don’t care….This is an excellent example for life. Stay away from drugs. Stay in school and get an education. Learn how to get a job, learn how to wake up early and show up for work, be respectful of your boss, be dependable, be a valuable employee…learn a trade….don’t expect to start at the top…if you decide to quit, make sure you have another job lined up…start over….

I'm reminded of a tv commercial when I was a boy. It was a native american Indian with tears running down his face, while looking at litter. This is supposed to be the greatest nation, yet much of it is covered with trash, and that's only one neglected problem.

Used to live in NPR in the 90's and still go back every year to visit. It actually looks better than it did 25 years ago in some ways, But there was never much homeless back then. ( Just a lot of skid row type alcoholics) There was plenty of old trailers and such for people to be housed. Now, they have been cleared out and tore down so it's off to the woods for many. I actually lived out in the woods myself when i first started my adult journey in Pasco. Me and my brother had a nice camp out by the Pasco incinerator station near Moon lake. Of coarse, we never trashed our place though. We still visit our old camp sometimes. Its still pristine to this day. It's just cool to go back and see where i started from all of those years ago. I loved living outdoors and have done it a couple different times through the years.

People say that California has a homeless problem. The problem is, in California, they live in the streets where people who aren't homeless live and work, so there's conflict. In Florida, they live in the woods and most people who live in Florida stay out of the woods.

I once lived in Pasco Cty. on two different occasions. I'm totally blown away. I moved away from Fl. more than 15 years ago. I grew used to homeless people in N. Ca., never imagined such a thing there.

I am a commercial and residential realtor in Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsboro county. The area's this you-tuber is entertaining are small locations off of rt 52 in New Port Richey and also Rt 19 in Holiday Florida. Pasco county which this You-tuber seems to have a problem with. is developing like crazy, and many older buildings which he has been filming are scheduled to be demolished .(You will be hard pressed to find a building in that county to purchase) Those homeless camps are old, and yes there are a few still around, but the county has a great program set up for them to try and get them back on their feet. I would love to see the stats this You-tuber is saying about drug overdoses as well. You can walk anywhere in Pasco county and not have an issue, and I have been through just about every part of it. This report is like a weatherman standing in a pond, and saying the area flooded. The old closed pawn shop he shows in his video I believe has been sold, and just a few blocks up the road are huge developments, average price range 300,000 to several million . I normally would not make a comment like this, but Pasco county has really done a lot, with many " A" listed schools and colleges. You have one You-tuber like this guy who sounds like he sits and watches TV all day, and gets off his but to make a crappy video, while his mother makes him lunch, and washes his underwear. Don't listen to (( idiots )) like this, Pasco is a huge county, with lots of great areas, and people. Older areas of the county are going through major changes. It is a great place to invest, a little over an hour to Orlando 45 minutes to Tampa. I just hate seeing someone doing a bad review for their own feeble satisfactions....Thank you

I also witness the worst-case in Vancouver, BC. 25 years ago when I first arrived in this beautiful place, I witness the changes and I feel very sad, It is really unsafe. Before I retired, I used to deliver fuel to that Sunoco, (and a Citgo station) on that road.

I moved to Pasco county and lived there for about a year. I came from Philadelphia. And I thought it was beautiful there. I guess compared to phila. There was a lot homeless that we seen . And me and my dad always tried to help them by buying food . I was once homeless liveing in Camden, NJ. So I think nothing really compares to where I came from. The homeless in phila are some of the nicest people. It's sad to see so many people liveing like that. I couldn't imigine being in the heat all year long. I hope the community does something to help them.

Unbelievably there are neighborhoods off of 19 in New Port Ritchey that has very expensive homes and condos. The homeless use to live along 19 and panhandle but now they have gone into the woods.

I live in canada, there's this patch of woods along a river that I've been taking my dogs to for 10+ years for walks. Recently it's been taken over by local homeless alcoholics and addicts, so now it's filled with garbage, mattresses, human waste, broken glass, needles, ect. So I really feel for the people that live around these areas. Sucks to have such pretty areas completely off limits because of these peoples poor life choices 😟

I lived in Hudson. Florida will end up like California one of these days. Homelessness is getting larger and larger.

The mayor , city council members and heads should be held accountable to clean this mess up as they all allow this crap. Not send others out to do their job, but see them out there picking up the mess themselves. Theft and crimes will pick up greatly from all this crap. .

This is all on 19. On SR 54 also Pasco County have beautiful homes and businesses growing in the area. So all pasco county is not bad.

Man, I used to live right close to there. Know that area well. What you did was a VERY dangerous thing. Those particular camps are gang controlled. And, yes, there are armed people in them. But, no, that is not Florida's biggest homeless camp. It's just the remains of one where people were forced to leave. That area of Pasco has been low-income, riddled with crime, motorcycle gangs, street gangs, drugs, and various forms of flesh trade for many years. Then the homeless issue came on top of it. A whole large segment of that population are/were "throw away kids" right from that area that have survived in those woods for 20 yrs. The reason that "camp" you found looks so bad was there was a big bust there and they were forced evacuated in a rush. Almost 75 people. The people who stay there will be very friendly but don't cross them. You really shouldn't be doing what you did. Not a good move.

I'm from Jacksonville ( Duval county) I've always been somewhat of an urban explorer and I've discovered whole villages in and around Jacksonville where ever there's woods. Also found a huge abandoned resort they had their own fully furnished rooms all set up inside nice and clean. They let me go through there but it had rough parts too. One room looked like it had a murder scene.

This is a camp I lived in.. actually 2 different camps until I got sober. These were my friends, they were good people who didn't hurt me or rape me or do anything crazy like that. They were my friends and we all took care and looked out for eachother

Pokemon card was cool! I found an entire binder of magic cards in a homeless camp in Lands End in SF. 90% of the cards were wet and ruined, but it was still hella cool. My dream is to find a binder of Pokemon cards in a camp lol
