Time to wake up. This is all over the USA, 50 states! It’s in every kind of area, urban, suburban, rural, rich, middle, poor. Hundreds of thousands of people are mentally ill, addicted, alcoholics, runaways, throwaways like the young man at the beginning of this video, Veterans with PTSD… A lot of the homeless are well-hidden in upscale suburbs, outside of gated communities, squatting in foreclosed homes and businesses. Something needs to be done about the people and for the people. Separate those who can be helped and want help from those who are criminal and so seriously ill that they won’t benefit from voluntary treatment. Send the criminals to prison, commit the dangerous mentally ill to long-term hospitals. Train staff who will give them the best life possible. Take the drug addicts and treatable people and require them to stay in treatment. Find out what are their real needs and meet them. You can’t just stick them in a tiny house with a day’s worth of snack food and expect them to get a job and become a productive citizen. Example, the guy kicked out of school in grade six, looks like he’s at least 18, probably older. Give him a structured living environment and get him a small job he must perform, that promised laptop, and private tutor who will stick with him to get that GED. He probably has undetected or neglected learning disabilities and nobody cared enough to do anything for him. I don’t blame him for stabbing the kid with a pencil. He knew he was going to get jumped, told both the teacher and the principal, and they let him down. Why didn’t the principal man up and personally escort him out of the school and drive him to a safe place? If the kids at that school are so violent, where are the cops? They should be on duty in the classrooms and in the halls, restrooms, everywhere. If the kids don’t want an education, give them a choice, lock-up, a job program, or straighten up and fly right. HS! guy’s 32, a grown-ass man with a sixth grade education! The school system that rejected him should be ashamed. I’m a teacher who’d like to work part time. Too bad I’m in Maine. If I were in Florida, I’d set something up and start teaching him right away. Evaluate his reading, writing, math skills and start wherever he’s at. It’s entirely possible he can’t read. Many public schools are useless, for boys especially. If he can get his GED, great, but if not, at least teach him to read enough to get a job.

They lightened up on the drug laws. Back in the day it was illegal to do drugs or possess them you did jail time and each time you were caught you did more jail time and were court ordered to do treatment. A lot of people were able to get clean and have a good life. nowadays it seems like they don't want them to get help. And they've shut down a lot of mental health housing. All the money spent helping other countries fight their wars would be better spent here taking care of our country. Just saying.

I'm in Iowa and been feeding and ministering to the Homeless and less fortunate for over 30 years and yes it can be dangerous but for the most part you just need to be aware of your actions and your surroundings, and always be respectful. Don't invade their privacy and never ever snitch about anything period. Another thing these people are homeless, their still human and most if not all enjoy the same things in life that the rest of us do, like KZfaq, Facebook, Twitter and etc., with that said, many of these homeless brother's and sister's are probably even some of your YT subscribers, Just keep that in mind when your making your video's it may help you down the road to get into some of these camps.

Again Child abuse is extremely rare in the homeless camps, not unheard of but rare. @SOUTHERN LIFE you want to get in good with the homeless community go introduce yourself without the camera, take a peace offering with you a case of water in a cooler of ice and a package of TP is two things that every homeless person can use, go in talk to them let them know who you are what your intentions are, However if your whole goal is to cause them grief and expose their location and get them removed please don't bother unless your filthy ass rich and plan on putting them up yourself? Homeless is all over America. With the higher cost of housing, food prices, weather damaged homes, health insurance costs, higher taxes, layoffs and more, many more Americans will become homeless. Will we be homeless too? The government gives billions of tax dollars to foreign countries. They should building night shelters with pods for people to sleep the night. (Chinese style pods) And showers with toiletries. Every Church should give free meals daily to the hungry and needy. Churches have been collecting tax fee donations for years. It's time to give to the needy if they are not doing it already. Can you imagine no more hunger cause all you have to tell anyone to go to a church for a meal. Not everyone is homeless cause of drugs. If you go to their "house" take some bottle water and food, they will not going to " attack you". They are just homeless.

It looks bad, but the open paper and boxes will break down at a faster rate than if it was in a landfill. Its true. They've found newspapers in landfills from the 1930's. It starts with family life, or lack of it. As kids, many of these people were failed by the people that brought them into the world. Were was that guys parents to get him help, to make the school help him. As sad as it is, many school officials ignore a kid who's parents don't seem to care about him. And it's not about poverty. That makes it harder, but being poor doesn't prevent a parent showing kids love.

These are people that have debilitating issues. Mental problems, deep emotional problems, additions (drugs and alcohol). Giving them a job and housing will not work. I have seen homeless folks turn their lives around, but it takes an enormous amount of time, effort, and love on the part of those who help them. It often takes years, so it takes patience. Many need medical help with their mental and emotional problems. Counseling for their addictions. Most need this for the rest of their lives. Most have no family that cares about them. They are often people who have been abused by other humans and society as children and young adults and have an enormous amount of pain to overcome. The truth is, very few people and institutions are willing to give them the help they need.😢

Listening to your tour, reminds me of those wild life tour guides explaining what they find. We ARE becoming less and less human and more animalistic in nature. Maybe in the very near future, it will become the norm, to build and live in an outside shelter, as living in a solid home and using simple grocery stores is becoming unsustainable. And it's all happening as we speak.

Lived in Cape Coral for 6 years and worked in ft myers. Lee County is a joke and cares less about there problems. Lived 2 years on FMB and talked with local homeless daily. Whole area is dealing with effects of high cost of living, low wages, and snowbirds. All the waterways are polluted also. Glad I left before Ian. Living the dream in Santa Marta Colombia. Keep up the great work exposing the truth.

why do they have to make such a disgusting mess. Maybe if they were clean, neat, people would not have such an issue. It's just beyond disgusting and unacceptable. Mandatory inpatient programs for drugs, alcohol and true mental illness must be an option at this point.

I just don't understand how or why this gentleman can run across a grill that stands alone and is covered in leaves and obviously it hasn't been used in quite some time!! I mean believe it or not even the less fortunate people such as the homeless folks u've been disrespecting make sure that their cooking area is as clean as they can possibly get it, some homeless folks camp sites are cleaner than some folks living in a house!!

That man that was ignored in his school, is all to common, always ignored. ! Always of course other people could have helped, duh, but they ignored him, typical situation. He is probably damaged now, hopeless from the stress of trying to thrive and all the tables was turned against him. PTSD. I believe that there should be places that you can go to die peacefully and painlessly to just get out of life, instead of just being stuck in your body. Cause I believe there is no hope. A lot of Wealthy people have a lot of dark secrets.

I was thinking, at least they're off the beaten path out in the woods and not laying around in front of businesses. But i can't stand dumpers and dumping either. It irks the hell outta me. I just can't understand the folks who have no pride in themselves nor their surroundings. Clean up after yourself dam! A broom and a dustpan and bucket doesn't cost a fortune and is not that hard to get. I saw one homeless woman in a video once who was sweeping up. And i said, dam look at that, there's 1 out there who's trying to clean up her area. None of the rest pitched in to help her. It's their DGAF attitude that i don't care for.

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS That's what you say. . But not having that, and having a IDGAF attitude is indeed a part of it. Some folks just don't want to work or be responsible. It's so much easier for them not to. No having to pay bills, not having to shop for food for the family etc. That's facts.

Lehigh Acres (like The Cape) is all individually owned sub-divided lots. Developers can only really build single family homes, or at best multi-family if they have a lot with duplex zoning. You would have to assemble lots together, or find an owner with an existing handful clumped together. Most Lehigh landlords have randomly scattered properties.

They are throwing up cheap stick construction made out of frame. You will hear all neighbors stomping around with wooden walls and subfloors - additionally it won't age well, wood rots in Florida and won't last as long as concrete (even if it doesn't get blown down from a hurricane)

Now u definitely got that part right about homeless folks being victimized! And u're talking to a man, think about the females that are homeless imagine the different ways they get victimized! I suppose in a way u are right about it being dangerous BUT it's more dangerous for the homeless folks than it is for u BUT the things u're saying and the way u're acting it's highly likely that a homeless person will take offense to u!! Seriously if u want to help talk to some of em with out the camera spend a few days with em and u'll be surprised at what u learn and then try to help out u'd be surprised how much the little things make a huge difference to someone in need
