Still my favourite of all their free dances, Mack & Mabel made history here with a total of nine 6.0 marks from the notoriously strict British judges. The interview afterwards is such a treat.

I can’t get enough of this particular Mack and Mabel ...I’ve watched some of their other performances of this but this should be ALL. 6’s. They are wonderful to watch.

So much has changed in Ice Dance from 1981 to 2020, but one thing is for certain, a perfect 6.0 dance stands the test of time and this is still today a 6.0 dance by anyone's standard. Brilliant!

One thing in particular that I appreciate about the British Championships is that they were filmed from the front! It's great to see the program that way, especially the finish when you can see the skaters' faces.

Tortilla and Dean basically dance on ice that’s why they are brill. Not fancy flips or spins, no need.

Of all four of their World Ice Dance Championship winning programs this one (Mack & Mabel) will always remain my very favorite....

After 40 years of skating together, Jayne has managed to stay utterly fabulous and Christopher might have aged a little and put on a little pounds here and there but not much. They are still looking fabulous.

Such a relaxed interview! Unusual for them at the time, I think because they knew Alan Weeks so well. Mack & Mabel is their only Free Dance of the big 3 of which not a single step was changed from St Ivel to Worlds. Barnum & Bolero both changed during the season. I still marvel at where this came from, as it's creation is such a work of Art. :)

That's a very good point about the lack of changes! When you look at it that way, it's amazing that they managed to keep the routine so fresh, they must have skated it 100s of time in practice session over the course of that few months and just changed very minor details at most.

It makes my heartache to watch them and tears roll down my face. They have so much beauty. I can understand how anyone might make assumptions about their relationship off the ice. Surely this level of performance requires enormous physical comfort and trust between the pair. Do any of us know that level of familiarity in our co-workers, friends, or lovers?

They are the only pair of Ice dancers the very best. They deserve to be together forever in my heart. Jayne is so beautiful snd Chris is so handsome. I will always wish they had married...always. You cannot dance like one as they always have.

Как бы мне хотелось еще найти все их показательные номера до 1985 г. пока они еще были в спорте. Я их помню с тех времен, но сейчас не вижу.
