Hey Stitching Friends!
❤ I finished China Blue! Yay! I start with that, and mention couching that I learned through ‪@stitchblisscorner‬ , Mary Rose. and then...
❤ I made a project bag.
around 3:30: ❤ I got and easily put together my K's Creations Stained Z-Frame Lap Frame. That is linked to Etsy below if you'd like to look at it better. You can see me struggle with it. Do I do anything easy?
❤ After that I get those clamps fixed on my Clip Frame.
❤ The Mini Bouquet Sampler SAL by Jeannette Douglas is coming along well and ready for April!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Markup RXP. I haven’t tried it. I do have the same stand. Since I’m left handed I have to flip it opposite of how it was initially built but that’s ok. I think the issue you are having it it’s too heavy with the scroll frame. Maybe try adding a small weight to the lap portion and see if that offsets it.
@annettesneedles
@annettesneedles 2 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea, the weight! Maybe a bean bag. 🤔 I do love that stand, I hope I didn't criticize it too much. I used it last night with the scroll and it does work wonderfully on that left side I worked on. And it's so pretty. Some of my problem may be in the way I had it adjusted. Thank you for commenting. 🥰🪡

A smaller pouch for the notions needed , matching the large bag, would be an added benefit. Even, possibly adding a 2.5" gusset!!! along the bottom seam...for me, it needs to be large enough for the 8.5" x 11.0" printed pattern, on card stock.

That's a good idea! My bag is 16" x 16" so it does fit everything! But a matching case would be so good! I'll consider that in my next one. There aren't enough hours in the day to make all I want to make 😂. Thank you for commenting! 🪡☺️

Hello 👋, I just found your channel today. I also have a wooden lap stand to stitch on and I put the bottom wood part under my leg. By doing that the lap stand becomes sturdy and easier to stitch on.

That's a good idea! My friend had the same thought and asked her husband to make a bit of an extension to make it tall enough to put under my thigh and stitch comfortably. (I have thick thighs 🤭). I haven't put it on yet but I think it should work like you said. Thanks for commenting. I'll let everyone know if it works good. 🪡🙂

The China blue piece is beautiful. For your lap stand you can try using one of the lap desks the bottom is soft like a beanbag and has a hard top, this will give a firm surface far the stand to sit on, on your lap. The mark up xp also available for android, I have it on my Samsung tablet. Have a wonderful day and thank you for the wonderful videos

With regards to the Z frame, isn't it ambidextrous....? Change the side its attached to your frame on your lap so it doesn't want to lean too much to one side or off your lap. I just got the same frame....I'm excited to use it.

I was noticing that it looks like the arm that holds the stitching raises up higher so you could slide the the bottom under the side of your legs and still stitch comfortably maybe?? I also like the tip given above about a beanbag being used. I slide mine under my legs and it works great. But mine is a different brand and my arm rises the stitching high enough. It works very well and comfortably for me that way. I hope yours does too, such a wonderful gift from your son!

I have the Z frame as well and struggle with balancing it on my lap with my scroll bars as well. I am considering requesting a longer piece for the side to use this instead as a sit on frame which would be more convenient.

I have an Elan lapstand also and even though the base extends to make it stable and it was, I was still stressing my posture a bit when working on the right side of the frame (the part farther away from the arm). I decided if I turned the frame over and put the far side in the clamp making the work upside down, I could always work with the half of the frame that was closest to the arm. True, you have to turn your pattern upside down too, but as long as you work stitch by stitch what does it matter. Regarding Patternkeeper, I find that there are more options to work with setting up a chart when working with a photo rather than a PDF. So even if I have a PDF, I just take a picture of it and set it up using that instead of the PDF. I'm enjoying your videos and hope you keep it up.
@annettesneedles

I think it will. Just find a good position for you then adjust it to fit. I often, but not always use a padded laptop tray on my lap, then my frame. Then once I’ve maneuver everything, I just settle in and stitch!

Hi Annette! I watched your video and took note of the Markup R-XP. I checked into it, in Apple and ended up ordering it for $ 14.99 USD . I have watched all their videos ( twice) and still navigating it like yourself. I have taken patterns from my saved photos and from charts and magazines. I am not sure if I should include the colour code/symbols OR do them separately. But then the system asks if this is only the chart or full page.? The big problem I have is re: Grid Lines, if I end up having the use the 3rd choice and try to line up the grid lines free hand, it seems to be So sensitive to get it just right! Also, the original grid lines and the other lines are not that much different in colour, so hard for these old eyes if mine to see. I feel I am spending too much stitchy time with the set up. Of course, I will keep working on it as I am determined to get much better at it!, Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated! P.S. Your blue round finish is just lovely! it will look really nice in the white painted hoop with a ribbon! I will look fwd to your next Flosstube! 😊🇨🇦
@annettesneedles
@annettesneedles 2 жыл бұрын
I've gotten better at using Markup R-XP. Now, before I load in a design I go to the settings and choose "extra" that seems to accept it clearer. Also, I scan the photo, graph, and the key all in one PDF. Then I can put things in their place and just check it all on my tablet. On my Bouquet of the month graph I didn't do that so I just put the paper key under my needle minder. There aren't too many colors in that one so it works. My next one I'm planning to talk more about putting my designs in on my next video. I'm not so good at typing it out. 😊 Thank you for your nice comments. 🪡✂️

@@annettesneedles thanks for quick reply and advice Annette! I am reading about another version “ v0.6 “ . I can’t tell if this is what I got. I searched for it in Apple but couldn’t find to download. I was watching a Markup R-XP tutorial where they mention new features added but I don’t see them on my app! It was on information added to the dashboard! Then there are not all symbols being picked up and having to fiddle with the high sensitivity levels! When I adjust the level, the screen won’t let me reduce in size so I can check if all the particular symbol was picked up or deleted,.I get stuck there. ( & frustrated) I need an “ in House” teacher! 😅
