Received my LORAN-type threaders today and was cutting every piece of thread I tried. I found your video and can now use my threaders! The rocking motion was the secret. Thank you so much! Another tip, be sure your needle eye is the correct size. I was using a needle to test all my threaders and the eye was too small. It was a size 26; but the eye was not cut correctly and was cutting my thread. I changed needles and all of my threaders are working for me. Just be aware if you needle slides easily on the threader. Hope this makes sense!

I used the LoRan needle threader for years but now it is causing the thread to break tnthe bend. Perhaps the lighter ones are the cause of this problem, or the inside of the "hook" becomes sharp. I have now switched to the Dritz which is the thin wire but in a plastic housing.

I love the Loran threaders and have used them for years. I recently purchased a spare one from HL and found ut thinner metal that does not want to stick to magnets. 😫

Barbara - we got a new batch of the LoRan threaders in a week ago and discovered the same thing. I asked our distributor to complain to LoRan. I did find that if I put two of them together they would hold to the magnet. So their redesign to use thinner steel isn't ideal, and hopefully they will still hold to a lot of use. I'm assuming the thinner steel is to cut costs and I suspect they didn't even consider that stitchers use them with magnets.

I used to love these but my recently purchased ones have very rough edges that keep snagging/fraying my floss.

What about quilting needles sizes 3-9?

As we don’t carry quilting needles so it’s outside my knowledge base. You might ask at an independent quilting shop what they recommend.

I need one with a right angle so I can thread my sewing machine

We only sell to people who do hand stitching so machine threaders are outside of our area of expertise. You might ask a quilt shop for a recommendation.
