Flounder fishing at the jetties with gulp shrimps and gulp swimming mullets because I couldn't find any live shrimp at the bait shops.

My wife and I subscribed when we were planning a trip to Corpus. He had just over 40K subscribers. While we were down we ran into him at a bait shop, then afterwards he did a live cast on the packery. He stopped to give us pointers. It was the best trip ever.

My fav KZfaq channel! Coop...how deep were you fishing along there? The sand out 15-20 yards looked maybe 3-4’? Then dropping into a hole maybe 8’? I grew up back east catching endless flounder...now I fish local around AP, Port A when I am down....need to up my flounder game in Texas! Been wanting to for a while...now with the freeze, want to ease up on the trout focus more on other species. Catching reds on the flats still my fav...but flounder my fav to eat! Need to put in the time and just go for it. Any tips for June? See ya soon either way🎣🍻🤙🏻

4:00; haha i didn’t know they go out into the gulf in winter. my personal theory about the floundies beating the valentine’s freeze was that they had buried theirselves in the mud real real real good and thus insulated their bodies better. Thank you for the quick biology lesson there, Thresh.

I usually do like a bass fishing hookset with flounder where you just give them like 1-2 extra seconds before you stick them.

We were out there last Tuesday, not sure when you filmed this one but it looks different and construction slammed rocks right on top of the flounder hole. I'm sure it will come back but it will definitely be different.

It seems like flounder are bunched up more than usual. It makes me wonder if the loss of so many bait fish are making the flounder stay near the areas that are still holding perch, mullet, etc.

Around here, it's more like 5 to 10 seconds. A minute or so and you will lose it because he ate your bait, hook and a couple inches of line, and his sharp teeth will cut the line when you reel him in.

i am not sure. i would say try it and see what happens. haha... here in my area of the states all the gulps packages specifically denote “freshwater” and/or “saltwater”. Also, the outdoors sports store i go to has a specific area with all saltwater baits and a specific area for all saltwater baits. heck i know very little about France. Do they have large retail outdoors sports stores there? i’d be curious to know!
