Bare bottom is the only way to go in my opinion! Looks good, I’m excited to see it fill in over time!

Thanks for the video. Looks great! I actually am about to finish cycling my Fluval Evo--what fish would you recommend for it? I also want to mostly do corals, but I want some little guys swimming around. Not looking to overstock as I experienced that with my African Cichlid tank a few years ago and it was a nitrate factory.

Looking good! Thought about trimming the mat down instead? May look cleaner with the white underneath? Looking forward to the build :)

Nah, I would much prefer it black, it would then also protect the stand from getting wet from any splashes

Once you start the cycle leave the lights off for at least 4 weeks.....the tank will be thanking you later 😎👍

Honestly if I were you, I would constantly ghost feed the tank so you don’t run into Dinos. Any other algae is manageable compared it Dino’s

Ghost feeding the tank has nothing to do with getting dino’s my friend

@@marty2314 if their is no nutrients in the tank, the tank will get Dinos my friend. Dinos thrive off of sterile environments

@@miguelsalty dino’s tend to come from an imbalance. Having no nutrients doesn’t cause dinos.

“If both phosphate and nitrates are testing at zero, this is likely contributing to the problem. While not proven, repeated anecdotal evidence points to zero nutrients in the water either cause or trigger dinos.”

We have different experiences and explanations, we shouldn’t be going back and forth 👍🏻 WE LOVE REEFING 😎
