Being a pilot that has only flown in the midwest (flat terrain) its interesting to see mountain flying like this. Great video

I think that's what inspired the canoe and sex joke. "What do American beer and having sex in a canoe have in common?" "They're both f**king close to water."

Interesting the option of intead of continue the IFR approach you level off on the MDA, fly over the runway and proceed to a standard flight pattern. Really cool, confortable and safe, because yes, 7.75 degree glide path means a lot of workload in the most critical phase. Congrats for the videos!

Thank you for your great videos! subscribed. love the way those are filmed and music too. p.s. as to this vid's closing phrase - soft landings are not always recommended: both Airbus & Boeing recommend stiffer landings under in crosswind, when landing weight is low and on wet/slush runways with friction coefficient close to minimal acceptable; the dillusion that 'soft landing is always better' caused several accidents in aviation history. Otherwise a great vid!

I like the video from Heyde Airport in Manvel, ND. What is the tractor doing in the middle of the runway? Landing to the north is always exciting. I haven't clipped a tree yet! ;-)

You don't need a 747 approach angle. Airspeed and altitude can be all adjusted on short final in a small airplane.

You know you can achieve a continous descent path with some pretty basic mental math right? For a 3 degree approach path its just 5 x ground speed. Don't need all the fancy avionics for that.

Only in planes with a pressurized cabin :) Airliners are required to drop below 10.000ft if they encouter a pressurization problem. Before the decent, oxygen masks drop down over you head. The air is too thin up there to breathe normally without climatization (like slowly climbing a mountain with long breaks along the way) Everyone died from suffocation aboard this airplane :/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helios_Airways_Flight_522
