My BIL was an Air Force pilot and once explained a term called TOT...Time On Target. It is a term that refers to the precise time that coordinated artillery or aircraft will arrive on target. Think about the coordination it takes to put those jets traveling 700mph, directly over the stadium at the exact second required! This includes waiting outside controlled airspace until the exact time they have allotted and previously notified the airspace of the need to pass through it. It is an impressive efforts of a lot of people to get these machines to fly over at the exact second needed.

@@fgk765jkhif you mean by “paid” by paying with their own life. Then yea but the United States does not pay their troops well compared to other countries. Why do you think North Korean troops are on their way to Russia right now? Well I’ll give you a hint, they live lavish lifestyles. Have you seen a 24+ year old come out the military with a Ferrari or paid off house? Unless they’re smart then no and in most cases, it’s the exact opposite. So “paid killers” wouldn’t even make sense, since their one, barely paid fairly compared to other countries standards and two, if their not paid fairly surely you wouldn’t be making the claim that they’re doing this for free right? So they have a job but they sacrifice their pay and life to secure your freedom yet you complain. Let me guess… Palestine?

Soulbrother 714. Your a ‘special’ kind of stupid, aren’t you? Not hard to time it out to be at the end of the song. And traveling as fast as they are, you don’t hear them coming because they are probably close to Mach 1 [speed of sound, 767mph]. They are flying under it because there is no sonic boom, but they’re probably still going 4-500 mph. You’re not going to hear them coming because of the stadium walls.

The roaring of those engines when they fly right over you makes every fiber of your body reverberate, and the resonance brings about a "primal loud yell from your belly" that you didn't know you could do. @@goldnarms435 the song should be played and sung with respect. Read the history of our National Anthem, including when and why it was written. @@mregister3945 Sir, you only know 1/2 the history obviously: the melody of the United States national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner," originally comes from a popular drinking song. The tune was composed by John Stafford Smith for the Anacreontic Society, a gentlemen's club in London, and the song was titled "To Anacreon in Heaven." This song was essentially a convivial piece sung at social gatherings, celebrating the ancient Greek poet Anacreon, who was known for his poems about love and wine

Yup turning everything into advertising is very American. "Arizona senators John McCain and Jeff Flake headed up a Joint Oversight Investigation into Department of Defense spending on military recruitment advertising. In November of 2015, they released their report. It showed the DOD paid $10 million in advertising to several sports leagues, including the NFL. The investigation found more than half of the advertising dollars were spent on what’s been termed “paid patriotism,” like standing for the national anthem."

When the flyovers happen in Minneapolis, the jets take off from Duluth, MN, a city about 225 miles north of Minneapolis. I remember one time a friend of mine who lives in Duluth said during a planned flyover of the stadium texted me and said, the planes just went over my house, they should arrive in about 3-4 minutes. Sure enough, they did, and on-time with the timing of the Star-Spangled Banner. Such an awesome sight to see.

I used to work for the gas company in the antelope valley and I was up in California City which is just north of Edwards AFB I noticed a jet flying low and circling around so I decided to go closer and get a look at it I got closer and saw it was a F111 I drove closer and didn't see it anymore and got out of my truck to look around and he came from behind me maybe 100 feet up and flew directly over me, I didn't hear him until he passed and the roar was intense I jumped up and down like the guys in the video! I used to see a lot of military planes flying there including the space shuttle on top of the 747 , the B2 SR71 but this was the absolute best 😊😮

I was fishing in a remote gorge in NC when two F-18s came up the river flying 100 off the deck. When the first one came through I thought it was an earthquake or something so I looked up at the cliffs to see if rocks were shaking or falling. That’s when I saw the second jet fly by and realized what it was. If those pilots spotted me they had to be laughing their butts off. It scared my dogs so bad it took the rest of the day to find them. I’ve seen some interesting things fishing rivers but that’s one of my coolest fishing stories.

@@wasidanatsali6374 Great story! I had a not too dissimilar thing happen. I used to live on a knob, at the end of a long valley, in a cabin built in the early 1800's. The Air National Guard used to do mock bomobing runs, on a dam, at the other end if the valley (some 20 miles down). Their return flight path was my valley. They flew so low (maybe 150' off the ground at my end) that the concussive force pushed the valley facing wall in enough to knock my TV off it's stand, (about 8"). Didnt break it. Was back in the 70's. Big CRT could handle it. The surprising thing was, the walls were 18" thick and covered with old slate shingles outside. Nothing was damaged.

Anyone who says you should be arrested for not standing or burning the flag, or that either is equivalent to spitting on troops, is speaking purely out of emotion and doesn’t truly understand what the USA is supposed to represent. My husband served 9 years n the USMC before having to be medically retired. His first duty station here in eastern NC where we still call home, was with the air wing aboard New River Air Station. I will never forget being in awe of the sign I stared at right outside of the main gate as we waited to enter. “Pardon Our Noise, It’s The Sound Of Freedom” It brought the most intense sense of pride, that the big beautiful noise makers that they were discussing on this sign, my husband would now be working on their engines (well, at that time the T-58 line since retired ) . But I’ve quoted that line so many times over the years every time someone feels the need to complain around here. We settled outside the back gate to Camp Lejeune, his last duty station, are down the road from Bouge Marine Corp Airfield, 45 min From Cherry Point Marine Corp Air Station where he works civil service back as a mechanic in the service of the Marine Corp Birds he so loves, and 30 Mins from the Original New River Air Station, where it all started for us in the way of permanent duty stations. There are always Fly Overs, trainings and in short, and lot of noises going on around here, that are reminders of the freedoms that our Marines are training for, will fight for, and God Forbid, will Die for if need be. I love each and every one of them. So thank you for sharing! That fly over, that beautiful noise, brings a tear to this proud Americans eye every time! So Yes, no need to pardon that noise ever, it’s always the sound of FREEDOM!

There is nothing else in the world like someone holding that last "FREEEEEEEE" and feeling those engines hit the stadium full blast. Someone commented on pilots ability to synch with a singer- that CANNOT be as easy...fighting falcons be through the city of Cincinnati in literally 5 seconds, think about how far of a loop and the timing they gotta have to hit that hole in the city just right.

I’m leaving. Get a passport and you’ll realize you really don’t live in the land of the free. It’s sooooo far from it that it’s comical to my friends and I that travel around the world. Still love the USA, but this song is sooo wrong saying that anymore. Sadly.

@@neilgunns8391 It was one of the first democracies that proved it could work and didn’t fall over its own feet *cough* Rome *cough*. Its the largest democracy in the world, it’s the land of the free because of the massive cultural integration and just about everyone is welcome. And well it fought for it’s independence and gained it and became one of the strongest and advanced superpowers of the world It’s not an accurate comparison when the free’er countries benefit from a minuscule economy and far less cultural depth. USA is not the greatest country, but acting like the song is bad because other free countries exist too is like, the absolute worst thing you could argue about why America stinks, it’s laughable. It’s like if I made a song about my garden being green, and you came up to me and talked about how people across the world with better soil and such have greener gardens. It’s like, ya that’s cool, I didn’t deny other gardens being green too though, it’s a song that celebrates the way more massive and advanced garden that I have

There should be a rule stating that all national anthems (especially the American one, as it gets messed with the most) must be sung as they were written. No more of these 45-minute long versions, where some narcissistic diva drags out every note because they think they have the right to "make the song their own." *To all future anthem singers. Please follow the instructions below:* _Walk onto the field or ice rink, sing the song properly, then fuck off._

@@dd-uj8jx No, not when conventionally, people are asked to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance or the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. It is not respect. They openly admit they are protesting. Getting paid higher than anyone has a right to be payed when they disrespect our nation and flag makes me want to tell them "try it somewhere else". Bet that would go over like a fart in church in England or Russia.
