Big fast water, fish feeding and bug activity all day. Going underneath proved way more effective than trying to force the issue on top. Today, the swing and the hang part of the drift were deadly. Let your rig go through the whole length of your drift, I bet you'd be surprised the amount of hits you get towards the end of your drift, especially when the bugs are active. See how many eels you see swim by me in the video. (Hint: 3)

You are, without a doubt, one of the fish-catching-est people I’ve ever seen. Another great video, dude. I made it to the Tully last week for the first time this year traveling between VA and NJ, and had a super fun time. Hooked (and ultimately lost) one of the biggest fish I ever have in 30 years of fishing that stream. It was a big brownie, 20’ plus, and broke me off before I could land him. Nice knowing those genes are being spread in the Tully! - Chris

You're at the walking bridge. I fish just down from there. What a great place for fishing. Just remember that if the water starts rising to get off the river. Wallenpaupak lake is generating electricity and the water levels become dangerous. There is so much to eat for the trout that they look like little footballs. The Lackawaxen runs into the Delaware and often the trout in the Delaware will run the Lackawaxen. At 8:00 is exactly where I fish when I get to the river. I wish I could have been there over the weekend. Likely would have met y ou

Hi Bob! Sounds like you know that water very well and you’re correct, very dangerous when the release comes downstream, I’ve experienced it only once, you got like 30 seconds to a minute to get out. Sure has some great fishing otherwise. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hey buddy! It don’t mean a thing if it don’t have that swing.😀 Perhaps it is just that time of the year, but i just couldn’t get over the sheer quality of the rainbows in the creek. No doubt that the must’ve put up a decent fight after seeing just how chunky😮 and healthy they looked. You and Ryan both did an incredible job and hope that you guys, including everyone who fallows the channel had an amazing Mother’s Day’s weekend as we all pay tribute and homage to theses amazing women who brought each and everyone of us into this world. God Bless you all until the next one.💙✝️

I grew up fishing the Lackawaxen from the early 1970's till 1996. Between that and the Beaver Kill it's where I learned to fly fish. Where you were at the swinging bridge was always hit or miss for me. Just seemed the water was too slow though that area that the fish had ample time to see the fly was fake. LOL Sometimes the hatches would be so thick the water would be covered like a blanket and with that much natural bait on the water we would just go home. Great video it brought back a lot of good childhood memories!!

My Uncle, Art Matthews, was a member at the Creamton Fishing club on the Lackawaxen in the 1970’s. He even had a pool named after him, Artie’s Corner. He would bring trout to our house for us and that was my first experience as a youngster with trout. Thanks for the memories.

Hi Erik! I was out in Central PA this past week but heading up to the Delaware this week. No video from Central PA, bummed, caught some nice fish but not the usual May fishing I was expecting, still had a great time but too hard to get good clips, would’ve wasted a lot of battery and card space. Next time! Appreciate you watching and commenting.

Hey Scott not to have the eel steal the show as it was a spectacular days fishing as usual . The blue perdy is one of my favorite searching flies usually produces for me . On another note i saw a lamprey and a about a 20 inch rainbow battling it out on the WB over were the Delaware Liver Clubs trailer park is before Caucci and his cronies kicked us out of the camp ground that was there . The eel had a good lock on the bow . Never seen one since and hope i never see again there creapy as heck . Thanks for another great one

Great content Scott! I learn alot from your videos, Thank you!! One question I do have: How do you connect your flies on your 3 rig nymph rigs? In line with clinch knots to the bend, dropper knots, eye to eye connection? Just curious what your thoughts are on the best way to connect them. Darn dropper knots always tangle up on me.
@pawoodsnwater7551

Hello Rob! Thank you very much! I connect my flies eye to eye with clinch knots, I have anywhere from 12”-16” tippet between each fly. Hey Scott, I fish similar areas to you and I have struggled to find wild rainbows besides some small spring creeks in the poconos. Do you have any advice on how or where to find wild bows and brook trout?
@pawoodsnwater7551
@pawoodsnwater7551 22 күн бұрын
Hi Matt! On the PA Fish Commissions website, you gotta search, but they have a list of all the Class A streams according to the counties and they list if they have wild brownies or brookies in them. There’s tons of Brookie streams but most of the fish are fingerling size. As far as wild rainbows, those streams are very limited in PA except for the Upper Delaware River system, it’s full of wild bows. Thanks for watching and commenting.
