I can’t believe I watched a flyers team not even be able to set up in the zone while on the power play. That’s insane. They better make some moves this offseason or have you guys ever seen the movie The Fan? Man I’m pissed

12:27 They don't shoot enough on the power play. Rebounds, deflections, open nets, they all happen after shots. They wait for the perfect shot and then never get it sometimes because they lose the puck.

Torts system isn't sustainable over 82 games when you have a team full of 3rd and 4th line players. Credit to the team for playing above their heads for 3/4 of the season but they are at most a hockey .500 team. Since the organization won't completely tear it down, good luck finding high end talent late in the first round. Late first rd picks like Gagne and Girouix are outliers and highly unlikely. Drafting the next grinder is far more likely.....which is why they are where they are.

It most certainly is. There’s to many hurt egos this year between torts and some players and there relationship may have been compromised.. torts needs to learn that he can’t trash the team he once played against bc this Philly city will quickly turn on his a$$..trade the guys don’t embarrass them over and over again

You have better than 3rd and 4th line players here. TK, Tippitt and Frost can be first or second line players here, or anywhere. In losing Walker and Seeler to injury, you effectively cut off our 3rd and 4th Defensemen for a month. Missing them really taxed Sanhein and York, who've been playing more minutes than they ever had, not to mention losing Risto, who agasin is a competant 4 , 5 or 6. Losing Drysdale too, was a serious issue, since he was supposed to step into the void created by Walker getting traded. It was all those things that hurt this team over the last 10 - 12 games, just as much as losing your #1 goalie.

@@pumpkinking5174 Frost doesn't check well enough to be your third line center, and he's too skilled for that position anyway. Torts should keep Frost with Tippett, Farrabee or Koneckny. They will create once they get a little more acclimated together. Besides, you also have Laughton, Cates and Poehling, none of which are skilled enough to be1st or 2nd line centers. Laughton can get away with it for a limited number of games, but not a whole season.

Still in it, but for all intentions...it's over. The collapse started with Carter Hart, throw in trading Sean Walker, a shitty Power Play, goal tending going down the toilet and not being able to hit the broad side of a barn with a beach ball. It was a combination of a lot of shitty things happening in a domino effect, one right after the other. 4 games left in the season. Yeah I didn't expect the Flyers to make the playoffs at the beginning of the year, but I did a few weeks ago, got my hopes up, and the crash is painful because I had that hope. Now all hope is all but gone. Very disappointed. Let's go Phillies?

It didn't start with Carter Hart, Ersson was outplaying him and continued to play good up until this losing streak started.

@@scottarmen9097 Yes it started with Carter Hart, because Ersson has been overworked and now you're seeing that issue. Don't forget. Ersson's a rookie that got plunged into the #1 spot. Now teams have a book on him, and how to beat him. Flyers had no viable third string goalie, as many organizations don't.

@@scottarmen9097 You didn’t comprehend what I said. I said their troubles started with Carter Hart and then to the Sean Walker trade etc etc. I don’t put any blame on Ersson, Torts ground him down to a nub. What I was saying was a lot of this losing streak has to do with Carter Hart having to take a leave of absence, it completely screwed up the goal tending situation.

It feels like almost no one is 'on' right now and it has been that way for the last ~10 or so. Some nice performances here and there (Frost, TK, some of the top D), but so many players seem like they are between a rock and a hard place that we just aren't getting results. Atkinson playing hard but not much to show, Farabee mostly disappeared, Lycksell appears cursed but has had some chances, Staal looks like maybe it's time to hang it up after a great career, long and demanding season for Couturier and Ersson seems like it has taken its toll. We just don't have the roster to cover up for that many players that are out or struggling. Love the energy guys like Laughton, Poehling, Hathaway (and recently maybe Cates too) are bringing but that doesn't always put goals on the board.

You know damn well the let Konecny go, he’s going to be 40+ goal scorer on another team hands down no question about it. Can’t let him go just get him a good center on his line and he’ll be great.

Flyers have no roster talent to trade only picks which they do have to get down in top 12 in the next 2 drafts . Flyers would never trade Konecny.....or anyone else on this roster with any perceived value. They wont even trade Laughton.....team needs a TON before Michkov arrives.

Who cares if they made the playoffs this year? The fanbase, media and even the Flyers organization just refuses to take a long-term approach to the team. That was evident by not trading Laughton at the deadline. The goal is to build a Stanley Cup contending team, not a mediocre bubble playoff team that we have been for a decade. We need high end talent that you get in the draft, yet we will probably draft #15 this year. Total waste of a season.

@@ethanphelps2127Walker was a long term move, but they balked at trading Laughton. Several beat writers said they got 2 offers for him, as the same happened last year. Either you are a buyer or seller at the deadline as the Flyers continue to want it both ways. Hence why we have been stuck in mediocrity for a decade now.

@@ZBurkhardtPlayoff experience is good when you have the core nucleus of the team. The nucleus is all Hextall draft picks that have underperformed (Farabee, Frost, Sanheim) as Konecny is the only Hextall pick that has value. This season was all about playing the young kids and getting a top 5-7 pick.

You can’t preach accountability across the board (including BENCHING your captain based on performance), and then bring back Rocky. Can’t do it. Doesn’t match up with the philosophy. Sorry Rock, I’m not rooting for anybody to lose their job, but that’s the simplest firing decision ever. Fielding a franchise-low PowerPlay in 2024 is beyond belief.
