Hi. i 've been flying only RC Helicopter and using Futaba radio for 19 years and now, i have the Futaba 18sz, that i overspent $1050 in 2017. But now, i want to get into long range Planes. Unfortunately Futaba doesn't have a LONG RANGE MODUAL. so i am considering selling my futaba and purchasing this FLYSKY PALADIN PL18. i have three questions for you. 1) is the Futaba S-bus receivers compatible with this radio? 2) the Flysky long range module looks too big to fit in the slot of this transmitter. what long range dodule will fit into the back slot of this radio? 3) does the Frysky receiver have build in telemetry. motor speed, battery voltage, altitude, ect, ect, ect?
@DutchRC
@DutchRC 4 жыл бұрын
Howdy :) I first have a question for you: wouldn't your Futaba support TBS Crossfire? Seems like a good way to extend the range of your existing radio.. Answers then :) 1. nope.. this Flysky radio uses a completely different protocol: AFHDS3.. Your Futaba uses the FASST(est) protocol 2. that long-range module would need a mounting bracket, but With that bracket it would work on the PL18 radio. 3. Yes.. full telemetry.. any kind of sensor you can think of can be processed by the system.
@scottyd035ntknow
@scottyd035ntknow 4 жыл бұрын
The new Jumper T18 coming out has all of that and the most expensive one is $180. Works with pretty much any receiver plus R9 long range out of the box. Has a JR module bay so crossfire is easy if you need to add that.
@DutchRC
@DutchRC 4 жыл бұрын
@@scottyd035ntknow I don't disagree per-see Scott.. And maybe (hopefully) Jumper's R9 implementation actually works (time will tell) :) but pfew.. moving from a Futaba to a Jumper.. that is quite a stretch :P

I would buy this radio in a minute if it was compatible with the older FlySky receivers. I don't see that there is a module available to do that.
@DutchRC
@DutchRC 4 жыл бұрын
Well basically there IS this module: www.banggood.com/Flysky-FS-RM003-Transmitter-Module-Compatible-AFHDS-2A-For-FS-TH9X-Transmitter-p-1194145.html and the module bay should be available soon.. But.. I would probably just keep the "old" AFHDS2 radio around for those receivers.. you'll have yourself a backup that way, or you can let someone else use it...

hello, I want to test my pl18 with epp electric airplane. but i have a "problem" the engine start run from midle stick. is posible configure the channel 3 for the engine start at lower point of the stick? I tried in all menus but a dont find a solution. the stick on channel 3 move to 100-0 to left to 0-100 to right. I need 0 in lower to 100 upper. I hope you understand my question ,sorry for my bad english.
@DutchRC
@DutchRC 4 жыл бұрын
Your english is perfectly understandable Rafael :) don't worry.. What you want to look into is a throttle Curve.. most radio's have that feature.. Basically if your current throttle range runs from -100 to +100 .. you can create a throttle curve that runs from 0 to +100 .. that should solve you issue... Hope that helps!

How do you use the trainer function on the Paladin? I’m trying to figure it out on how will it work with the Flysky FSI6X as student and the Paladin as trainer. I already read the instructions and have the appropriate cable but still it won’t work.
@DutchRC
@DutchRC 4 жыл бұрын
Well ONE of them will at least have to be Master.. I must admit I have never tried this with the PL18, but on all radio's I've tried master-student setups, you need to configure what Channels will be controlled by the student.. and you configure that in the Master radio (probably the PL18 in your case?)
