They are a good little truck. We have three of them in the family and mine was the only one with an issue. The screws holding the transmission together were over tightened and kind of warped the whole thing. It was a good carpet runner, but as soon as it was taken outside, the gears started slipping. The CR18 rock van's motor and trans were a direct replacement with zero modification. It can be had with all metal gears. You can also get the metal axle and diff gear set from Fairrc. They are for the CR18 6x6 but are also a direct replacement.

I have went hard on the 18 scale. Allot of people rave about the FMS 18/24 rigs but I hate the slop in the drivetrain on anything they do with a 2 speed. IMHO Traxxas has the best 18 with the TRX4m. Smooth drivetrain and a super turning radius on the TRX4m. The best thing about the 18 scale for me is I can sit in one spot and drive for hours! The 1/10s require at least twice the room. I put a .2 nozzle on my Bambu printer just to print 18 scale accessories!

Would like to see your hill climb challenge with the majority of your rigs. Hope you and your family had a great Christmas and new year my friend. I find the Atlas 6x6 is more 24 scale then 18, but nonever the less a great looking rig and it's a 6x6 what's not to love, and there's lots of upgrade parts available.

FMS should have made this in 1/10th scale, but we got the 4x4 instead. Dunno if FMS would have done it right. LoL 😆 🤣

Take the front bumper off. It works a whole lot better. You can flip your cab clear forward and work on it And I think it looks just as good,,, I run that little thing over everything metal wood dirt concrete,,,,,

No I do not use it, The box, But it is a excellent little truck. I think i've had mine now like three years,👍
