"Foghat - Eight Days on the Road
Sugar lady, be my savior
'Cause I'm tired, I've been eight days on the road
That's right, eight days on the road
Travelin' through the night
There ain't no town, ain't no town, ain't no rest tonight
Broke and busted, standin' on the county line
I've been traveling eight days on the road
That's right, well, eight days on the road
Travelin' through the night
There ain't no town, ain't no town, ain't no rest tonight, oh
I'm out here thinkin', thinkin' 'bout what I've done
That's why, oh that's why, I'm eight days on the road
That's right, well eight days on the road
Travelin' through the night
I'm comin' home, I won't be long, I'll make Birmingham tonight, oh yeah
Oh sugar lady, be my savior
'Cause I'm broke, busted, I've been eight days on the road
Hitchhike, I've been eight days on the road
Travelin' through the night
There ain't no town, there ain't no town, there ain't no rest tonight
Comin' home, and I won't be long
(Eight days on the road)
Sugar lady don't you do me no wrong
(Eight days on the road)
Ridin' on the highway and I'm outta luck
(Eight days on the road)
I'm makin' it back to you, makin' it back to you
Makin' it back to you, makin' it back to you
Eight days on the road, eight days on the road
Eight days, well, whoo!"

Seen Foghat with Montrose and Black Oak Arkansas and let me tell you they each put on a show. Montrose opened up the Foghat played and I thought it can't get better that this they whip the crowd into a frenzy with some killer solos. Black Oak came out and slammed the stage with some high energy rock and destroyed all their equipment one of the best concerts I ever saw. It was in Murray, Ky, at Murray St. University. I was elbows of the stage and we where smoking and handed Ronnie Montrose a joint and he hit on stage. Those was the greatest days of life the 70's. They don't make music or allow people to have that kind of fun anymore.

I remember when "Rock and Roll Outlaws" was released of which "Eight Days on the Road" was a cut and reading the review in Rolling Stone and the amazing review it got. This was truly when hell of a band. I saw them at I think the Beacon in NYC of which Montrose opened, Sammy Hagar on vocals, and Black Oak Arkansas was next and Foghat last up. A smokin show

I may have the date mixed up with another show I saw, but they were touring in support of their Fool for the City album. And Nick Jameson was on bass, instead of Stevens. Black Oak led off, didn't know Sammy Haggar did vocals for Montrose, heck I had never even heard of him at the time. Anyways I can't remember that much anyway except that advance tickets were 5 dollars!

Lonesome (RIP) had it all together. Erik Cartwright was so very good too (RIP 2017), but I've always preferred original The Bottle = Rod Price (RIP) and his SG looking Gibson Les Paul. Originals Roger E. and Tony S. are so very exceptional! Mr. Earl has always been steady and there; a Mr Beat - laid just a little bit back. Tony had good substitutes like Craig MacGregor (RIP 2018) who was a great dancer on stage, but hell, Mr. Stevens was the original bass. Thank you Dave Peverett !!! Born April 16, 1943; RIP 46+ in Feb 2000. FOGhat; wear one! Nick Jameson was on bass for some album cuts in the 1970s - studio bass player/producer.

I had that same argument with a guy I worked with, in 1973. He said Aerosmith would be around, long after Foghat was gone. A version of Foghat is still touring, with an original member, even after losing their 2 frontmen. I win! Aerosmith was great too, no denying that!
