This game embodies such a classic matchup conundrum; Undead masses air and NE's counters have a slight disadvantage; the game quickly turns into a stalemate and the UD rages at you when you refuse to die.

Yes and no. UD had a chance to end the game for 10-15 minutes, by thrashing his main and current army. Instead he harasses expansions, basically doesn't ever attack Grubby's current army and force it, and lets grubby rebuild his entire army to be ABLE to fight him lol.

Also notice the -5 armur done on dreadlord by the valiant talons before dying. Thats why he melts (also range heros punch hard with levels and items)

@@GillesLouisReneDeleuzeIf NE doesn't go panda, mass gargoyle can murder NE real easy. Most NE units lose to gargs. Like dryads v Gargs, gargs will come out on top (dryads take extra damage from gargs). Hippos and Gargs trade evenly.

This dude had all the opportunity in the world to attack your main base. He had a superior army with wryms and gargs vs Grubby's entire land army for like 10 minutes. He chose to just hover around his own base and attack grubby's expansion. In the meantime, Grubby took his sweet time REBUILDING an entire army of hypogryphs. BRUH

And with Grubbys army being air only - he could sacrifice gargs attacking the base to build up fiends - who he already had upgrades for - to counter the gryphs. Also - why he just had to stick gargs with heros? Why wouldn't he send them forward to use their speed and quickly trash building since he clearly had them pass critical mass.

This guy threw so hard. He had a multiple times where he could have crushed Grubby, and he kept hero focusing while hippos beat up his whole army, no nova, followed by carrion, followed by garg attack it was so odd. And he could have pushed his advantage on main way earlier and didn't

Now THIS was a good deed! I like the flanking attacks near the end (of which the first involved Staffing the Metamorphosed Demon Hunter to hit the Undead from one direction while coming after them with the main army). And then all 3 Ultimates at the end, even if the Starfall was not optimally placed. Surprised Undead didn't make any Destroyers to eat Faerie Fire and Roar.

Hippogryph archers would probably have been strong here with 3 talon support for heroes, the thinking being that the hippos lead the gargs away from enemy heroes, dismount when engaging, destroy the damn gargs from two fronts, or circle the griffs around the mass of archers. Talons and heroes nuke the UD heroes so they can't AoE easily.

33:23 -- UD letting his Lich die like that was *СRIМINАL... -_-* Also at 37:37 -- his DL. Shame, because otherwise he played a GREAT game, and he lost only because of such stupidly-achieved errors... O_o Like... *HOW* do you even do that ?! O_o .

Maybe iam get sh*t on on this take, but i always thought that it would make sense, that MG´s would be able to hit air units when they have their tree equipped. In terms looking at the model it would make sense, as it seems bigger than a tree + the tree he is handling seems as big as him and gargoyles for example or any other air unit, doesn´t seem so high up, that the MG wouldn´t be able to reach them. As MG´s are more or less rarely played i think, and the MU is quite tough for NE overall looking at statistics, it might help them in that regard as a bit of a niche pick. Really great and tense game! Great comeback :D

This was Grubby's blunder. His NE micro and Macro are not good enough to take advantage of NE's strengths. UD should have never been allowed to come back after the ghoul massacre. Grubby somehow couldn't keep eyes on UD despite having owls before he lost the base. Luckily for him, he's got incredible willpower and resilience.

it wasnt imba at all, he just needed to switch from gargs to aboms and statues once grubby went mass hippos. The guy doesn't realize that wc3 is a game of rock paper scissors and you can't get stuck committing to one build but you have to be fluid to counter build.

Archers are very strong against UD air lamers. Fully upgraded with potm + roar they do over 30 damage and have favorable armor type against gargs and worms for only 2 pop. Idk I'm a noob but it seems hard this game fighting gargs with unarmored talons.

@@ostankovalex1176practice shows that you would either need a very large number of archers or that it doesn't really happen in time and they do get insta murked by aoe It's hard to mass archers with 3 heroes and multiple bases unless you have already stockpiled tons of gold and go to high upkeep with low number of workers This is why backseat gaming is rarely good especially by people who don't play the game

why talons ? they get recked by gargs on the ground and in the air :/ maybe one or two for firefly? And armor scroll (and heal obviously) would be super beneficial for a big air-clash between gargs & hypos

what a SILLY game, honestly... I really think that *they BOTH played like А$$...* Grubby just had a better sense to build more bases around the map, so that's why and how he won... :P .
