Joy, I really enjoyed and got a lot out of this Q & A. In the Month of March/April I struggled a lot. I have depression and that had me down and during this time I was battling with myself about reading the Bible. I want to read the Bible completely and learn about it and grow in my walk. During the last two months I felt like I was being pulled two different directions. I was feeling that my depression was just hitting hard and I said God doesn’t want me to be without joy so me watching TV or going through Insta would be fine. Then I began to see that yes God wants us to enjoy our lives, spend time on Insta or watch TV. But don’t make it more important than reading my Bible. So during your questions your answers spoke truth to me. I thank you for following God’s instructions and sharing it with us. It has placed me in a different place with a different perspective. Well deserved break times for Mom & Dad! I appreciate how respectful you are of your family’s business and privacy. That’s important to have those boundaries. Vitamin D does make a huge difference. Once daylight savings time hits in fall thru transition into spring it’s great to take. Usually by summer you don’t need it. Glad to hear the kiddos are feeling better and Gideon has his inhaler to help. Your kids are a bit young for organized sports, some don’t even start until high school. Your kids are getting lots of fun opportunities and exercise. Even though you don’t have that routine you’d like just think of it this way you’re raising flexible children who are open to spontaneous adventures!

Joy, I love to watch your and Austin’s videos because y’all are so down-to-earth. I appreciate your love of nature, which you two have seemed to share since your courtship. Personally, I feel that being outside is one way to feel God all around us. I love to marvel at the details of God’s creation from the beauty of the smallest delicate flower to the majesty of huge rugged mountain peaks. I think it’s so good for children to be outside as much as possible, whether they’re playing in mud and rain puddles or lying in the grass to watch the clouds go by and daydream. It is so delightful to see your little ones enjoying our great outdoors (in spite of all that pollen!). Thank you for sharing bits of your children’s lives (I don’t have grandchildren); it is so fun to watch kiddos grow and develop new skills. Good for you young lady on all counts! Obviously you've been guided towards this group workout so you can feel what the brain does for you while exercising straight 45 mins. That's HARD when you've got 3 kids!!! My big tip about pollen, think I mentioned it b4, give Gideon his own stack of cheap(thin type) washcloths and each time he comes in from play, he washes his face and eyes especially 1st, then rub it all over his hair, and into the laundry basket it goes. Never wear same shirt in that you just wore out. Magic! I'm an oldie now but your personality very much was like mine as a young mom. I wanted a routine? But I actually didn't thrive on it, just went with the flow! My opinion of you two is: you each found the perfect person to grow with, make you're own rules and decisions with, stick up for each other with, and have beautiful kids with. You're a great match. Keep on doing as well as you can!

Joy, thank you for posting this. I felt like you were speaking directly to me at times, and for me at others. This is very much what I am going through. Struggles with faith, almost to a point of disconnect. But, when i let Jesus take the wheel, he wasted no time. I remember feeling like the colors and light were fading from each day, and I can actually see them returning and just feeling more content to even happy. I am grateful you're willing to share what you do, it's comforting for people to be able to know they're not alone in their feelings.

It's hard to keep all in balance as most times, we are focused on 1. 2 of them. One of them then suffers. You are doing wonderfully keeping a balance. Also, please don't be hard on yourself with always trying to be positive. It's not like when you were a child, you had no cares, no worries. Now, you have a very busy life. 3 beautiful children. You're an amazing wife, mother. Think of all the responsibility you have! The list is endless. Caring for your children, husband, house ..... The more responsibility you have, it's hard to just keep going at times, nonetheless keep positive. Some days nothing goes right! When you feel you've reached your limit, know, this too shall pass. Good for you, Joy! Counselor, doctor, pastor, family/community, that's all important. Yes, I'm concluding almost the same thing about chaperones with dating/courtship. I regret that me and my now ex spent so much time alone together in either of our homes. And we're in our 50s and I'm widowed, so that's our reality. Still praying about how to strike that right balance if I ever get into another relationship. Reading through the Bible has been very helpful in processing all that. Glad you're doing the same regarding this, and wearing pants, and other things that you and Austin are doing different than your upbringing. And I love that song too. You can see how happy the kids are and yeah, putting your life in the public, you'll get lots of opinions good and bad. Don't let the negative people ruin your day.
