Everyone remembers when Fonzie jumped a shark. What I remember is when he fenced the greatest swordsman in all France while wearing a leather jacket and no mask.

The scene after this the gang decides to celebrate at Arnold's and as they are walking out of the gym Fronzie turns around to the French guy and invites him to join them....good sportsman and forgiving guy...they walk out as friends....

As a kid, I would fence without a mask, like, all the time. All my friends at school did. We would get out of class and meet in the park. Hundreds of us, fencing. And then this episode aired. The next day, everyone of us had masks. Thank you, Fonzie. USA USA USA

It had already been a couple years since then... so, none too surprisong when it came to this. Funny how, while not totally a realistic representation of the 50s and 60s... at least had an organic and authentic heart to it. But didnt take but a few years for that to completely go by the wayside.
