This was an amazing afternoon! To catch up with nearly 150 food lovers - who had come not only from all parts of Bengaluru but also beyond - and learn from them first hand their special connection with our show. I’ve always known that our work connects with a wide cross section of viewers, but here for the first time, we were meeting them. Our youngest participant was just over two and the oldest, in their eighties. Truly felt blessed to meet each one of them over a delicious jolada rotti oota at one of my favourite Uttara Karnataka restaurants, the legendary 60-year-old Basaveshwar Khanavali, here in Koramangala, Bengaluru. Hope you enjoy this leisurely afternoon of conversation and catch-up over a sumptuous baale yele oota.

Only if you limit the quantity of oil and the sweets, this is definitely not the healthy way of eating as they are using too much oil in the items, also fried items and 3-4 varieties of sweets in a meal is definitely not healthy. Simple home style North Karnataka meal only is healthy.

Not only food everything from North Karnataka is underrated. Be it our language, festivals, custom, temples, people.They always highlight Bengaluru and sarrounding districts only as if that's the only part of Karnataka. Though I am from kerala, we during our last visit at bglore, had jolada roti meals at basaveshwar khanawali.and we relished and enjoyed the north karnataka cuisine. Thankyou kripal we were fascinated by your review on jolada meals which you did one episode with legendPuneet Rajkumar. After seeing that episode our nxt bglore visit we visited this eatery.

This is a very special episode. It was nice to see your fans appreciating the food. As you said you wanted to showcase different food establishments in its raw, pure and in an honest form without any orchestration. I completely agree with this statement of yours. I visited Mangaluru/Udupi early this year and had food in restaurants that you had visited. Needless to say I enjoyed this culinary expedition. But one restaurant that simply stood out was Hotel Latha at Kota, very close to Udupi. When I had seen your vlog on Hotel Latha, I noticed the owner of the restaurant to be very enterprising and down to earth, but I also had this weird feeling that this could be because of the camera. So I visited the restaurant to check this out myself, and I was quite surprised to see him welcome me like he had known me for years, suggested what dishes I should try out. I first felt he did this after seeing me in my riding gear attire. But later on I noticed that he was greeting everyone in the same manner as he was with me, asking how the food was, if they had a great time, etc. His humble and enterprising nature was very genuine. It was indeed inspiring and also an eye opener for me that not only do we have great food in our state/country but the people behind it are special. We are truly indebted to you, for what you have shown us, made us to go that extra mile and try these hidden gems, and also give us pride not only in the food we make, but for who we are. Thank you Sir !!!!

I always had a nice meal here whenever I have to take Bus to Mumbai, It is probably the humblest way to start the 18hrs long journey, and I can't describe the authentic taste of the food felt like as if you are having meal at home!! And if you are lucky, you can also have Pooran poli made in the most authentic manner and the taste is far better than what we can get in Maharashtra. Hands down food experience!! I should thank Kripal for visiting Basaveshwar Khanavali keep up the good work!!

North Karnataka and South Maharashtra food habits, language mix with Kannada and Marathi some Konkani speaking tone etc.😊 That Brinjal Vegetable and Jowar Roti is typical local food.

I am also a big fan of you Food Lovers, though I am not from Karnataka but I worked in Mysore and Bangalore for 4 years Food is something which connects you with people I remember all the cusines for Hotel Rrr,Mylari ,Das Prakash, Hotel Roost Bangalore Nandini, Sivalli and many more I love traditional food Your presentation is awesome . specially with Power star Puneet, Ashish Sir I am also exploring Indian Cuisine,where ever I visit. Specially in South India,I found the taste of Sambar and Chutney change from state to state and even district to district That's India, taste changes every 100km but heart beat is same Best of luck Hope One day We meet Even I found many of my foreign clients love Indian Cuisines Due to sudden influence of western cusines many our traditional receipes are going on back sheet If you could explore this by talking with grandma s they will also feel good Best of luck

Oh wow you still managed the kitchen tour ( I simply love it ) despite having a tight schedule. Every time you go to a kitchen despite being there before your eyes still light up and you are all years as every kitchen tour is a learning experience for you . Oh wow what an epic episode this was wish I was a part of this meet-up nevertheless I am hopeful that one day we will be meeting. The food that was served was so delicious looking and amazing my mouth was watering when I was seeing this episode and Kripal as usual you rocked it today all the people who came from far and near of all ages from a child to grandmothers and grandfathers showed how much we all love you and the amazing work that you do to tell the untold stories.
