Ingredients:
- green plantains
- ripe plantains
- cassava (a.k.a. yuca)
- taro corms (remove skin!)
- red sweet potatoes
- white sweet potatoes
- potatoes
- parsley
- yellow Scotch Bonnet pepper
- ground black pepper
- boiled egg
- salted fish (a.k.a. baccalao)
- vegetable oil (or coconut oil made for cooking)
- 2-3 large onions
- 1 large tomato
- 4 large cloves of garlic

My Jamaican and Bajan friends tease me all the time because I always include the egg . I tell them we have boiled egg with everything lol

Yea Mon Amaru I love salt fish with lots of onion and tomatoes Jamaicans would boil some green banana, plantains, yellow yam, dumplings and sweet potatoes to eat with that maybe piece a coco for dinner. For breakfast we keep it simple and eat it with green banana and a piece of sweet Yam. Yummy M

Oh we add those ground provisions too, but it's just me and I figured, if I added allll of them, I would be stuffed for at least a year, lol ;) But I hear ya. And we have similar history and cooking habits, even our native Creole language sounds similar to Jamaican Pattois, so ;)

Hahaha, ik ben van vele markten thuis en spreek 7 talen ;) Thanks voor het kijken weer. De app is door de lieden van Google uit de app store gehaald, want volgens hun voldeed het niet aan hun eisen... pfff... maar sterker nog en nu lach IK: de Google app store wordt binnenkort opgeheven... whahaha ;)

bingo....today sunday was thinking what to cook. dacht van ff op jou kanaal zoeken k had al in hoofd oven aardp maar nu wordt het heri heri hb toevallig alles in huis behalve salt fishhhhh..ahahha k bedent wel iets anders hoor. in suri kun j in elk winkel salt fish vinden but hier ned niet. thanks for your idea.

Really? Well, you learn something new everyday ;) But it doesn't surprise me, as the entire Caribbean is populated with descendants of the Maroon slaves from Africa, so it makes sense to me ;)
