I have half-jokingly called myself a *“carb junkie”* or *“junk food junkie”* while overindulging on refined carbs or diet junk food *(ex: white bread, light ice-cream)* but that‘s appropriate because by using the phrase ‘junkie’ I’m acknowledging they are in fact VICES! Obviously I don’t expect to be referred to as *“health conscious”* or *“a fitness enthusiast”* if the point of the conversation is to bring attention to obsessiveness, anxiety, acting like a know-it-all, or inappropriately policing people. BUT I have always preferred *“*health nut*”* for that usage. It can poke fun at our fastidious attributes and worry-wart tendencies- but it’s light hearted enough because the people who use this term usually DO acknowledge that being prudent and discerning are *positive* attributes that are *self-productive, not self-destructive.* **** The people using the term ‘health food junkies’ seem to be the people saying “well sure i have some vices but being too obsessive and restrictive is just as bad as what I’m doing!” It makes no sense for her to use these terms though because she likes to do extreme “purity Junkie” pseudo-science bullshit like eating only fruit or “detoxing” or abruptly deciding to water fast without consulting a doctor first

it’s okay to treat yourself to some unhealthy food. my family only eats out like 10 times a year. not that much considering there’s 365 days in a year. and that’s mostly for birthday parties. i get cravings a lot always wanting to eat some junk food which kills me sometimes. but i usually uh help it (?) by eating some ramen or maybe fruit. cause fruits are soo good. i know when i live by myself i’ll probably treat myself once a month. but remember self restraint and balancing it out with nutritious healthy food is the most important part.
