Seems a little aggressive cuffing scottie also. Looks to me the cop has the God complex in full display. Hitting the car aggressively with the flashlight and then the aggression shown spinning scottie around once he got out if the car was way over the top. As a prior military policeman, (many years ago), I personally feel the cop was waaaaay out of line.

Police lying about an arrest is no different than planting evidence. If cops arrest someone, we need to have the receipts. You can’t just make things up and arrest someone for it. If they lied they should be facing charges themselves.

This entire event was made up by a power tripping cop. This pole video speaks volumes of what actually happened the Cop runs up to the car and violently strikes the driver window, No dragging, no resistance by Scottie, and this is happening in the driveway of the golf course far away from the fatal pedestrian accident. They were saying the police officer was dragged 50 yards. The car moved maybe 5 yards and the cop was running alongside. People make mistakes around blocked off roads all the time. He stopped right away. Just tell him where he's supposed to go and get on with it. Arresting someone they know is a player is really stupid. And what is the cop doing with his head completely inside the window? WTF is that?

Here's my question? It's been established that the police officer in question didn't have his bodycam on. Are the LMPD saying that of all of the officers present, none had an active bodycam that recorded part of if not all of the incident? Personally, I find that possibility hard to believe irrespective of how chaotic the situation was and it seems that there is more to this than we are currently aware of. Other officers arrived on the scene and according to the eyewitness from ESPN, there was a lot of shouting which would've grabbed the attention of these other officers. Where is their bodycam footage?

Scottie Scheffler’s arresting officer has a lengthy record of misconduct! Dropping charges: Usually it is the DA that decided if charges are dropped, not the police, from my understanding. The prosecutor needs to do his due diligence otherwise it looks bad on the police and DA. They need to interview witnesses officially before making a call.

All those police officers at the scene, yet none of them are wearing body cameras. And if they did have body cameras, they chose not to have them activated. Seem to be a very stupid policy allowing the officer the choice to have the camera on or off. The camera should be on at all times to assure the public of transparency. The video can be redacted or even erased, if not released to the public via judicial review. Since the office chose to turn the camera off, he can offer no proof other than his word as to what happened. He made that choice, and hence charges should be dropped. Maybe next time he'll know better.

I enjoy your podcast but we have to get the facts straight here. The video was not “leaked” police disclosed it after the morning news conference. Police also explained the officer was disciplined for not activating the Body Camera. It was clear from police that “we all want to move forward”. Charges are probably going to be dropped. Civil suits, that’s another conversation. Scottie is a nice guy he probably doesn’t want to be bothered

I’m pro Scottie here, and I think this whole thing is ridiculous… but it’s possible the incident happened on the other side of the bus and the cop ran to catch up to Scottie’s car. All of which could not be viewed from this camera angle.

the Prosecutor is as corrupt as the Police... the "Officer" committed false arrest, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, mis-malfeasance, falsifying charges, falsifying government documents, deprivation of rights; the "Officer" is also the sole cause if 95% of his injuries latching onto a moving automobile when he could have (being an accident scene recreation expert) instead pounded on the hood or trunk to get the driver's attention... the Prosecutor is also REQUIRED to disclose exculpatory evidence, AND prosecute the "Officer" if there is evidence of the "Officers" wrong doing... If there is any true Justice the "Officer" should not be being treated as thought everything he did was lawful, and everything Scottie did was unlawful...🤔

The slashing motion of the officer likely broke out the driver's door window. The little flash of light is either the officer's flashlight or a reflection from the window as it shatters.

Please forgive me if I missed something. The initial reports said the officer attached himself to the car. How did he do that? I would assume he grabbed the door handle or maybe the mirror. So, did he think he could hold a car to keep it from moving? And once he found out he couldn't, why didn't he just let go?

This video is the back end of the incident, Scottie was in the que, he was informed (by someone) to drive on the near side lane (a lane is use for players and who ever is involved in the day) but the policeman told him he could not as there was no room, but Scottie carried on as he was told he could and I guess he could see he could also get through, but hear is where it get's lost in translation - the policeman holding on to the door handle or frame (as they do), could have been unbalanced with a trip or fall ? BUT never a drag (as human nature say's let go) - NOW the video you are showing is the final bit with the policeman pissed at Scottie because he took no notice of him, he runs up to the car - and the rest is videoed (footnote - for someone who was so-called got dragged for 50yards was MOVING really well).

This is a classic case of just another aggressive police officer on a power trip. I would hate to see what would have happened if Scottie was a black man. Thrown to the ground and assaulted I suspect. The cop probably ripped his clothes himself after the incident to cover his tracks. I think Scottie has an excellent case for a civil suit. This entire incident is going to cost him millions from lost earnings.

Bryan Gillis, the arresting officer, has just experienced his 15 minutes of “Fame”. Saying that, the Louisville Metro Police Dept will be lucky if they are not investigated by the FBI, charged with False Arrest, False Detainment, False Imprisonment, Assault of SS and Violation of his Civil Rights. In this video, MLPD clearly cannot backup their allegations leading to the charges. If a jury saw that video, the verdict would return a NG in under 15 minutes. Then, MLPD would be charged on Federal Violations and be liable for subsequent Civil Litigation. Remember that the Prosecution has to prove SS’s State of Mind and prove Intention to commit a crime. The City of Louisville, Chief of Police of MLPD, the Mayor and the Governor of Kentucky have only one group of sane actions in front of them. 1.) drop the charges immediately 2.) publicly apologize to SS 3.) fire officer Bryan Gillis & any other officers caught lying 4.) negotiate (aka beg) with SS not to file Federal charges against LMPD. All of which would make SS look like the absolute public hero he already is. Anything less, and in an immediate time frame, will lead to a pricey outcome for Louiville and just watch as the police & city officials are forced to resign if they fail to take swift action to reverse this incredible screw up…

This is clearly impacting his performance. In the PGA, this affected his 3rd round. This also impacted his first round of the Charles Schwab. This is getting into his mind and it needs to go away. What impact would have been if he just drove forward? What damage would have happened? I think there was no risk of him driving to the golf course as planned. In my opinion, this was clearly a cop on a power trip who did not know his job or assignment. Now, Scottie Scheffler's life hangs in the balance due to in my opinion an incompetent cop. Why have these charges not been dropped?

This is awful. What's worse is this happens off cam to folks without the resources, support, power or money that someone like even Mr Scheffler has, and they never get treated fairly. Nor do they get this type of social support. It stinks because it does help even them when someone like Scottie gets attention for this, but others should get some attention more than someone like Scottie, who frankly has a more financially sound condition than a lot of us.

LMPD should drop all charges and issue Scottie Scheffler a full apology.

I wonder - what would the psychological evaluation of the officer in question look like way back when he was being hired by this force? Some who have been hired could not pass a credible psych evaluation and therefore should never be hired. Waiting to hear what happens in court.
