People would have asked me to put Scholes. Picking between Giggs, Ronaldo and Best was one of the hardest decisions to make when creating an all time XI

If I had removed Ronaldo or Giggs, I would have gotten the same criticism. If I had removed Scholes like what @Coola Pulensa is saying, then I would have gotten immense criticism. love your team but somehow I have always wondered how about vidic and stam together. somehow I feel the two would be the rock. Plus somehow I was trying to put Roy Keane in. Harsh Srivastava i’m not sure about a vidic-stam partnership, since they’re pretty similar players (stopper cb). i mean sure we would definitely concede very few goals but the defensive unit would work better with a stopper and a sweeper imo.

In no disrespect to George Best, Duncan Edwards imo was twice the player what Best was but don’t get me wrong Best was an outstanding player and probably Manchester United greatest ever player behind the great Duncan Edwards. Duncan Edwards was a unique player everything about him you just want to like. He was world class in every position, he could play goal at full back centre half in centre midfield on the left and right and at front. He played in goal and kept a clean sheet. It was a shame that he passed away in the Munich Air Disaster we would of won a lot more trophies than we would of back then. Another player Sir Bobby Charlton one of Man United’s greatest ever players come out and said Duncan Edwards was the best player he’s ever played with and the best player he’s ever seen and he’s played with the likes of George Best, Denis Law and played against Pele. When you hear someone like Sir Bobby say something like that then you sit up and listen.

@@bl8589 cheers for the thoughts, though to be honest this was a year ago and my opinion on some of this has changed since then. I think I'd go with Rio and Vidic together now - Stam is great but maybe it is better to go with the better CB partnership, and those two balance each other out nicely. I did have Best in the original XI. Charlton has to get in though for sure. Second best footballer to ever play for United (after CR). Not sure what position would best suit him in a modern game and I don't have a settled idea for a XI right now, but Charlton would be part of it for sure. Keane would still be one of the first names on my list. Such a good all-round footballer, tactically and positionally versatile, technically excellent and has that grit and leadership you almost always need at least some of in midfield. Picking between Scholes, Beckham and Giggs is always going to be a challenge, and what the rest of the team ends up looking like would probably determine who I'd choose from them. Plus, with just 11 places so many worthy players are going to have to miss out: Edwards, Robson, Carrick, RVN, Tevez, RVP etc we haven't even mentioned yet.

They both won more league titles with ManU than Cantona, plus they won a CL.There is a diffference between the best and the greatest. Ibrahimovic was also important in the 16/17 season, and is probably technically a better footballer then Denis Law for instance, but I would never choose Ibrahimovic over Law in an ManU All Time Xl. That's just crazy! And Ronaldo won 2 World Cups, a Cup Winners Cup and an UEFA Cup. He is an all time great for those reasons. What mayor international trophies did Cantona win? Some league titles doesn't make you an all time great imo

And you bringing in international football is strange so the question is did Cole Keane Best win the world cup? Best is definitely one of greatest if not the goat. You can have great players who did not win the champions League or World cup but average players win it I give you examples if you like. But everyone knows how hot headed Cantona was, it was only SAF who could handle him. His international career he clashed with managers swearing at them in press conferences. Which could also mean European football like the Cup Winners Cup, UEFA Cup or Champions League. Keane, Cole and Best all won the Champions League/European Cup with ManU. Cantona never did. Neither did he win a EUROs or World Cup with France. And I never said Cantona wasn't a great ManU player, just not as great as the players I mentioned in my first response. Sir Bobby Charlton is the best United player ever for me. Now what Ronaldo did George Best have done better (apart from the free kick and scoring goal). George Best play football like it's a magic show, a more entertaining football. Eric Cantona may not score goals but the impact he had on the team and the magic he create on the pitch is just amazing and for me he's the best No.7 apart from George Best.
