Missing Valur, Pollý, and Andie already.

My husband and I enjoyed the reporting by Shruthi on seaweed foraging. I have nothing negative to say but I believe the Grapevine does not understanding why we enjoyed listening to Valur so much. Number 1 he is Icelandic and reports as someone who has grown up in Iceland. We are not looking for someone from another country talking about Iceland. I could talk about Iceland after my visit but it would not be the same. He did not report the news or other events the way that they would have been reported in the United States and THAT was a huge reason to listen. His take on the English language made the reporting interesting and required active listening to understand fully what he was trying to say in some instances. We found it informative to hear the Icelandic take on events and politics in the United States reported in a way that someone from our country would not report it. All in all we miss Valur and are undecided about continuing to subscribe. We will wait and see what happens.

Thanks for uploading this video from September. I have no issue with Shuruthi but this does not help me move on and I still feel terrible that the RK has "let go" the people we all respected and are so fond of. I have not rushed to cancel my membership or unsuscribe at this point but am still unsure if I will stick with the channel. At the moment I am waiting to see what happens.

Personal bucket list includes seeing aurora. Learned that travel costs to Iceland were reasonable Researching info regarding Iceland I chanced across Reykjavík Grapevine Covid derailed travel plans. The grapevine became a staple for following conditions and restrictions. We missed the aurora but lo and behold came the volcano. We spent a week in Iceland. Valur and polly were our weekly guide. My dog Bronte was riveted to the TV whenever polly was on. They are missed

Seems to be a seaweed revival in the culinary world. It's a bit of a thing here in Scotland too.

I thought the video was interesting and the host is very engaging. I don't understand why videos like these couldn't be mixed with news videos with Valur and Polli. There is a need to purge the old. It's the same here in Canada.

A rather inauspicious start to the 'new direction'. I suspect that there are a lot of people puzzled as to what is going to happen so please could someone produce a video and explain what is planned for this new beginning.

Although Iceland is and will always be one of the most surprising and beautiful places in the world, and although Shruthi did a very nice job, I NEED VALUR, ANDIE AND POLLY BACK!! I want to know what’s going on with the Icelandic Bank problem, with the Namibia affair, with the girl who was bullied, what are Laufey and Björk doing, and so many more interesting news…

As a transition video, after the unwelcome news of the departure of people who have come to feel like friends, this was a weird choice. Is this really the tenor they are moving towards? This particular video wasn’t for me. I’m really hoping for the best and don’t want to cancel my membership. Fingers crossed….
