I'm 40 years old, my FIRST ever experience with the IRS was me using TurboTax or something like that. Did my taxes got my small returns and went about life. Months later I get a check in the mail for the IRS for 50 bucks. With a letter saying that it looks like I overpaid on my taxes! Now I work at Burger King minimum wage was like 6.25 back then. That's pretty much a full day of work! It came when I had a lot of money and wasn't behind on bills. A few months go by and I get another letter...... Oops we messed up! You didn't actually overpay so we are going to need that 50 dollars back. Ohh but here is the kicker now it's 55.95 because of they want to CHARGE me interest. I was like wtf is this? It seems so insignificant but it was the point 😂 and I was broke when they sent that shit to me. I'll never forget that. Absolutely disgusting.

right here in Iowa in my hometown we have on the south end of town a whole water supply contaminated with arsenic from a company that dumped chemicals there . there's a little motel by it and there used to be a trailer court there they had to take all out. I used to live in one of those trailers they said that we couldn't drink from it we couldn't cook with it couldn't boil water but we could wash your clothes and bathe and it even though you could literally smell the stench of the arsenic. staining our clothes little absorbing into our skin making us sick. there are rural homes there but not quite country homes but they're not in town homes. you have to get gallons of water on hand.

Seems unbelievable that there is not a pile of invoices accounting for all the spending and sample audit checks to ensure the money did go to where it was documented, showing that the hardware exists as per the invoice. One person and one person only should be accountable for these checks.
