“Innovation demands rigorous intellectual work, coordination among a plethora of organizations and individuals, and a certain ruthlessness to abandon familiar ideas, capabilities, and platforms which no longer provide relative advantage.” - Gen. David H. Berger, Commandant of the Marine Corps.
The Marine Corps continues to refine #ForceDesign2030, pursuing the development of a single, integrated force that supports joint operations focused on forward maritime campaigns.

Hard to believe all this when A) We cant even afford to fix our out dated equipment B) Your marines live in barracks that aren't fit for livestock C) You don't have proper ammunition allotments for us to go train frequently with REAL ammo D) You are still stuck on using tilt rotor aircraft when so many have crashed and killed marines and you don't have the money to keep them maintained AND FINALLY E) You do NOTHING about the toxic leadership issues that have plagued your institution which shows since your re-enlistment rate is so incredibly low.

Ok counterargument time since you need it; A) What outdated equipment are you specifically fixing? Do you think we out of all branches have priority funds from congress? B) When I joined I don’t remember joining for awesome housing accommodations. I don’t think the Chiniese or Russians have it right now either. C) Blame Congress, dude. D) You don’t know the exact causes of the recent crash. The Osprey has a similar safety record to other aircraft with similar hours. E) Explain “toxic leadership” because 7/10 it’s carelessly thrown around, especially when some sense of accountability is enforced. I say this as someone who I can guarantee you has seen both sides. I understand it’s easier to regurgitate garbage, incomplete narratives, and be angry, but let’s try to think logically and critically instead dude.
@jackson2308
@jackson2308 2 жыл бұрын
@@high_drivexxx You haven't been on both sides if you honestly need a list of what's broken and/or outdated. Or you were with a well equipped unit that doesn't reflect the rest of the Corps. Bad leadership is often thrown around for no reason but it's also not uncommon for it to be true. The micromanaging and need to treat grown adults like children but expect them to behave like adults is the issue. Honestly, I think leadership has gotten too comfortable pushing people's buttons knowing most of them won't say or do anything when they get outta line. Bad leadership doesn't mean they aren't nice. They can be mean and still be fair.

Pilot recruiting is fine. There will never be a shortage of men and women who want to fly fighter jets and attack helicopters, even if they end up in V-22s or CH-53s. I’m honestly not sure if the Marine Corps has given a single frenchman’s fuck about retention. If they did, pilots wouldn’t be in the squadron doing jobs filled by MOS-trained officers in ground battalions. They also wouldn’t be sending pilots to non-flying tours for 2-3 years at a time.

While the 2022 next-gen concept contains some positive aspects such as 'experimentation' and thinking outside the box, a lot of the overall 'concept' also came from the 2019 era mindset. The 2022 mindset didn't formulate over night. Whereas unfortunately, given the tactics and capabilities being revealed in the invasion of (and defense of) Ukraine alone today, much of the previous tactics and planning for modern conventional war as accepted from 6 months ago, can be thrown out the window. The tactics and force structure and equipment/systems required are radically shifting since the invasion of Ukraine.

The invasion of Ukraine has, if anything, entirely validated modern western force design and employment tactics. Ukraines force was modelled on an moulded into a representative NATO standard small force optimised for assymetrical exploitation, very much like the USMC. It has performed to an outstanding standard against a numerically superior, technologically superior foe, all within hostile IADS preventing things like freedom of aerial manouvre. Nothing has been thrown out the window, Ukraine is an example of a small force applying modern western land air battle doctrine, although optomised for an assymetrical context, to exceedingly well effect against a foe those tactics were largely designed to defeat.

To execute an intensified program of harassment, diversion, political pressure, the capture of prisoners, physical destruction, acquisition of intelligence, generation of propaganda, and diversion of resources, against the enemy. A new new type of Warfighter. Who's extremely brutal and absolutely lethal while at the same time can cause absolute psychological trauma to the enemy Bring Down entire regimes of governments by conducting propaganda Warfare to conduct surveillance counter and counter surveillance to conduct Espionage and sabotage.

Small armored anmphibious craft in 15 vehicle teams able to meet up with one of the LCAC's or bigger gator ships once a week to rearm and resupply with .50cal, switchblade drones and MRE's that can sink small boats from the trees on the shoreline in an initial fight. Maybe hopping across channels to another island in the dark to concentrate on a large landing zone? Later on in a fight forming teams of 5-10 infantry out of the survivors that can hunker down to do the old shorewatcher role of spotting and painting big ships for heavy missiles after hiding the remaining vehicles for a final defense? If the shooting kicks off it is going to be a Korean war style Zergfest, at least initially. Maybe put some solid rocket boosters in the switchblades so they can catch loaded helos...... Look at the demographics they have 10's of millions of expendable male population, do we have the ability to move that much ammo covertly? Semi-submerged drug runner supply boats able to crap out a 40 footer in a sheltered cove for the 15 vehicles or company to resupply from once a week/ maybe even day? Equipments wise, yes they are better. But, I rather have a quality war fighting machine to win battles over mass quantities of machine that does little to nothing. Look at the Vietcong, no matter how much we bomb the fuck out of them and used so many resources to keep them at bay. Somehow, they still manage to win the war, that’s because they were well trained and know how to maneuver through certain terrains. Don’t get me wrong, they had more casualties for every battle they fought against us. That is because they were using guerrilla warfare, disrupt or destroy strategic target and get out. It’s not like conventional warfare where you know who the enemy is. That’s why it is harder for conventional troops to fight an enemy that blends in with the regular population.

No! The tactics just changed, when the surface to air missile came out they thought jet fighters where out dated, is this true? No they just invented a counter measure called the FLARE to help dodoge those and they changed the tactics a bit, anti- tank missiles have been around since the Cold War , the Germans even had designs for the first guided anti- tank missile in world war 2, did this mean tanks are out dated? No you still need them, like I said earlier, the tactics for tanks may need to change a bit and also tanks will need counter measures for that, the Russians have a counter measure in their t-90 tanks that detects incoming anti- tank missiles allowing the driver to manuver the tank you might not think that is much but it’s harder for the anti-tank missiles to hit a moving tank than it is a stationary tank! 20 bucks says u didn’t read this article you damn Call of duty misinformed child!!!

@@ghosttankcommander5397 I don't think you're understanding the point of Force Design 2030. It's not wether tanks are good or not. Tanks can be great tools. But they're not good for the Marine Corps. We're supposed to be an amphibious force, with integrated logistics and command to be able to outmaneuver the enemy. We have less quantity, and the Army has better technology and more armored components. Our purpose should be to be fast, and hence small and light in the name of speed. While also able to call in fire support. We're not supposed to fight these long drawn out tank battles like in ww2. That's the army's job.

imagine a day where stupid rhetoric doesn't matter... can the USMC comprehend such a day with material such as this? heavier? the military prioritized lighter less armored vehicles with a higher degree of mobility... then couldnt fix what the enemy could break, then told congess that all was well.then lost the ability to take the fight to the enemy. dont pick a fight with china the marine corps is not ready to fight. they lost their readiness in afghanistan.
