Stabilisation is terrible and sound quality is ropey as well. The wind noise doesn’t help. Shame.

Thanks for reviewing this helmet Andy. I was not aware it existed until I watched your channel. Decided to get myself a Xmas present and purchased one today and took advantage of the Spring bundle offer. Thanks also for the ANDY5 code. I had a few issues when I attempted to pay for the helmet but Forcite Support were quick to respond to my emails. I'm quite excited.

Such a great lid. Have been riding with mine for about 2 months now. Like you, I've had some software issues, but they are constantly developing and updating so I'm sure it'll get better. I'm also hoping for a better camera, and really hoping it'll be a user replaceable module so we don't have to buy new lids. Great review.

Nice review Andy. My helmet isn't that old but as soon as I need to replace it I'll be looking at one of those for sure. I'm pretty sure I can't have a gopro on my helmet in NSW so I would have to add a dash cam on my bike somewhere if I want that insurance, but I never got around to that. Plus I couldn't justify 500ish on a sena so I just use earbuds, which works for now. So for those features alone I could almost justify buying this right now. Also the helmet that I originally wanted looked very similar, premium liner and lightweight carbon etc by itself was over 1k, but I was buying the whole kit so I just couldn't afford everything I wanted at the time, especially considering the research I did to find quality protection on a budget didn't work when it came to fitment and comfort. I ended up spending double my budget on boots alone so I felt comfortable when sitting down in a chair and I could actually walk in them lol. I think I'm trying to talk myself into upgrading lol

Nice honest review Andy. I have had my MK1S for a few weeks and found similar things where there is room for improvement. It may not affect some but I find the helmet visor along the top very distracting. Unlike many visors, there is a raised bead and three etching lines either side running around the top of the visor. When there is any light on the visor eg sunny day, this clear bead in the visor creates a dazzling bar of light in the riders forward top vision It is also blury so you loose this part of the visor. For me even doing a demo fit in the Showroom the helmet sits too low as there is very little in the way of padding ( even with the premium padding lit) on the top of your head. Everything else except some tweaks in the software for more reliable bluetooth comms, is very good. Some road noise expected for a carbon shell but the benfits ( lighter weight and streamlining) But I can hear the inbuilt speakers clearly and can talsks on the phone without the other party compaining of background noise.

For what is a premium bit of kit (2 Grand for all the nice bits), not to have image stabilisation is an oversight. Looks nice though.

Hi Andy. been a while mate. i was thinking about buying one of these today. and I wanted to watch a review. and you popped up... you mention the wind noise. from the microphone it didn't seem that bad. Ive had much much worse. were you wearing earplugs? if so how was the speaker loudness? does it have a drop down visor?

Hi There, thank you for your video. Can the MK1S be used with android auto / iphone via bluetooth connected to phone like any other after market bluetooth kits to use your own maps and music OR ONLY with Forcite app and navigation on the app?

How exactly is the wind noise? My current helmet has integrated bluetooth with controls on the helmet itself. Once up to 80+ km/h, I find I have the volume at or near max (depending on the volume of the song). After a few hours of highway riding (~120 km/h) and it's like I've been to a concert. I get ear ringing afterward. So I guess two questions; 1. Do you need to max out the volume to hear the music when at highway speeds? 2. Do you end up with ringing ears after a few hours of highway speeds?

yeh, I feel a bit icky about getting tied to the bike, so I have a small USB battery I keep in my chest pocket on the inside of my jacket. Works fine. But that's only when I think I'm going to be recording for a long time, for just listening to music while riding the helmet battery lasts all day.

Great review! I'm very tempted by this helmet, since my current helmet is starting to show some age and I've been thinking about a replacement in the near future. One question: Is there a removable memory card that stores the video or do you need to hook the helmet to your computer via a USB cable to download the video files? Thanks for your thoughts and ride safe!
@Forcite
@Forcite Жыл бұрын
Hi Chris! A micro SD card is used to store recorded footage from the helmet which is kept under a weather proof gasket at the bottom of the chin front. There are various ways of viewing the footage - You're able to remove the SD card from your helmet and insert it into your PC/laptop, you can connect the helmet directly to your laptop, you are also able to connect your helmet directly to your phone to view footage through our mobile app.

Nice review. Just got my MK1S yesterday. One of the first in the USA. Didn't know that the drop down sun visor was eliminated in the USA version. Something to do with the D.O.T. safety standards here. Kind of disappointed in that. Looks to be limited accessories here also. I'm sure that will improve with time. Looking forward to trying it out soon.

@@namek7981 Tucker Powersports is the USA distributer for Forcite. Look them up and find a dealer near you. I ordered mine and it took a week to get it. Picked it up and the dealer. $1099.00 before taxes. The USA version does not have the drop down visor. The DOT would not allow it. Don't know why.

Sub par sound from what we are used to- noise cancelling for the background wind and engine noise would help but it’s extremely “tinny”. Camera seems ok but nothing special. Not knocking it but we are just used to far better quality from your channel. I guess if it saves having to set up before you go that’s a good thing for when you just want to throw on your helmet and ride!!

The idea is great but. The image quality isn't the best, it's ok but not as good as we've seen from you. As mentioned stabilization isn't great either. For uploading on a Sunday morn to FB to show your mates I guess it's ok but not the best. I'm sure subsequent versions of this lid will address these issues.

What a ripper, Andy, that has got to be the fanciest hat I have ever seen. Does it have a fitting for removing stones from horses hooves? With all those built-in features (and I don't even know where the battery goes) It must cost a packet? But for weight, safety and convenience at the level of magic, it should.

$AU2K (£1.1KSterling) for a helmet? even with a camera that's beyond the budgets of most riders so this is for the niche market only. most Riders will stick with the Go Pro...
