Thank you. This helped me a bunch. That third solenoid was a pain. I followed your writing on the screen and shifted the transmission into neutral. It allowed me to get a 21 mm wrench to the back nut, then slightly pulled out that shaft to get the last solenoid out. Again, thank you.

The one he skipped isn't too bad. You must pull the small roll pin out of shift shaft, remove neutral position sensor, black box on side of trans shift shaft is through, pull shaft out of trans while knowing the parking pall will come out with linkage. Pull shaft out by using a 13/16 open end and loosen nut pulling shaft out as you loosen. When nut is off stop pulling shaft. Remove shift solenoid straight back. Grease end of new one so O rings don't roll over. Gently push new one in. Re assemble.

Just so people know, torque the bolts on the solenoids (both the 8 and the 10 mm bolts use the same torque) to 89 in lbs and torque the pan bolts to 120 in lbs. Hope this helps.

When doing these SOLENOIDS no ever tells you about how to get to the one this guy skipped. If you'll notice there a pin in there by his hand about where the gasket goes. If you pull that pin and loosen or remove the shifter links the rod in the way will slide right out of the way. Some fix or if you don't know you'll be right back in there. So pass it on. It's simple if you know and almost impossible if you don't. HAVE FUN OUT THERE I DID.

Hi, thanks for the video. We have a 2007 econoline that was not shifting into 3rd. Codes were coming out that we needed to change the spark plugs so we changed all and the coils. But it’s still having the problem not shifting to 3rd. But not showing any codes.

Did you throw a code? What was the original problem? Mine goes to Neutral when downshifting from OD to 3rd especially going up a slight grade about 1500-1800 rpm.

Did you end up fixing the issue with the 2 solenoid that you replace??

My problem is the shifting into od. I originally replaced the c ring above the overdriven servo, that has broken to pieces. It worked at first, but then later on when the engine heats up, the od goes out again and I have to turn off the od in order to get past 3rd gear.

Does anyone know; What symptoms would be the cause to do a solenoid kit replacement. I am at my wits end with mine. I swapped the transmission it's been running fine for about 2 months and all of a sudden it started when but the old transmission was doing witches when I slow down and put my foot back on the accelerator the transmission doesn't engage I have to come to a complete stop and then rev the motor a little in the transmission will jump into gear any advice would be greatly appreciated. My 2003 e250 started reving high when shifting to 3rd and higher. I changed the same two solenoids and the codes did not go off. Also o/d light on gearshift flashes. It seems to be driving better but revs high at 4th and higher now. Not nearly as bad until 5th gear. Don't know what to do Codes won't clear when i erase with scanner. Any ideas?

I have an 06 Ford f150 xlt . The 3rd gear dropped one day. I have 1st and second no issues. No codes on the transmission though. Thoughts ?

My 99 f150 wont shift. It goes into 1st. And you can barely feel it go into 2nd. But it won’t go into third. It basically winds out. I was suggested to change the shift solenoid and the pressure solenoid. The round one in the video. Is that a AT Control solenoid? I could be wrong. First time doing this. Looks easy enough. Could these cause my issue too?

I have reverse only on a 99 mustang v6 and when i put it in drive or 1 or 2 i hear this eeeeeeeeeeee electrical sound. i think it's a solenoid. and when i look on ebay for 99 mustang and solenoid it shows me a 4r70w as being the transmission. I was working when i parked to go into a store. i came outside and it backed up but then wouldn't go forward. no slipping or anything. but it had a delay on going into drive when you put it in D and took about 10 to 15 sec to engage before this happen. so that is why i am thinking a solenoid.
