The emissions crap just needs to stop. Being a heavy equipment operator I see so many issues with this on our new equipment as well. Most issues are pertaining to the emissions crap.

Exactly, their are countries that are way way worse polluters like China. This movement to make zero NOX and Zero particulate sounds like something from Fantasy Island because it just isnt going to work until the problem countries cut down on their factories that are making their country in the worst polluters category. All the emissions on vehicles is just hitting the owner in the pocket, when is the last time you heard of someone having problems with the emission equipment on their vehicles and it costing them under 500.00? Hardly ever, when these emissions systems foul up its usually in the thousands to fix em and its not only fords it's everything chev, gm dodge semi trucks etc We are all taking the hit in the wallet

Man I want to delete mine but I've had two 6.7's now and both have been very reliable for me, bone stock. Had a 1st gen that only saw the dealer for the power update when the 6.7 was just released. Got rid of the truck with 173,000 miles on it. Now I got a left over 2015 and it's got 64,000 miles and change on her and no problems. I'm still under warranty, but I don't know if I want the noise and black soot residue all over my truck every day. Man I'm really thinking about it though after watching this video. Thanks!

i am a jabroney I deleted my 15 6.7 30k ago runs great no issues at all no regens no def it does sound different than the 11-14 models due to the variable turbo the veins in turbo open and close so the exhaust note changes sounds like a jet turbine similar to duramax turbos up 2-3 mpg across board and power is wonderful EGTS are lower than stock even with tune And depending on tunes smoke is minimal Ezlink is the hottest tuner out and if I didn't have the sctX4 already I would get one I run SOTF tunes w SCT x4

I agree soot depends a lot on tune. Smoke is lack of efficiency. You really should only get a small amount usually only fast acceleration. And really only between slight over fueling until the turbo spools. Which on the 6.7L is only seconds.

awesome video! I have the same truck but a 2012. I am looking to do a DPF delete with the SCT tuner, but am a little confused on what to do for a tune. I have heard a few people say that I need to have a custom tune made, but have had many places say they will not tamper with emissions. I have also had people tell me that all I need to do is get the off road version of the SCT because it comes with a DPF delete tune? What set up are you using here in terms of a tune? and any suggestions? thanks!
@onewheelwonder257 жыл бұрын
Hey Justin, You will need some sort of off road tunes. Meaning it disables the emission control system. I got the tuning through Rudys diesel performance. I believe Punch It performance writes the tunes for them. Any sct tuner that states it has off road tuning options on it should do the trick! Give them a call and they will set you up. Thanks for the comment!!! Any other questions let me know!

@rubberhamburger5 жыл бұрын
There’s mixed info on that issue. Some say it’s the glow plug tip breaking off. Some say it’s the valve breaking off and therefor taking the tip of the glow plug off. Either way it’s on 2011 models built before mid March 2011. Changing the plugs probably is a good idea if they are the issue. Taking the DPF and EGR off would most likely help the valves stay intact as they wouldn’t see the super high regen temps.

Pretty soon states will be inspecting these systems, and if they are altered or removed you will not be able to pass inspection. There already doing it many states now! The federal government will slowly force states into doing this, by withholding federal funding unless they comply. So make sure you can put it back to factory specs to pass, then remove again. Lol Also it is a federal offense to remove these systems, not sure if or how it might be enforced. Just food for thought.

@buckhorncortez5 жыл бұрын
You delete the EGR as part of the DPF and DEF delete.
@rubberhamburger5 жыл бұрын
After deleting all the emissions you’ve allowed the exhaust side of the engine to breath better. Putting on the aftermarket intake allows that side to breath better too. I imagine if you’re following dump trucks down dusty dirt roads for 100k miles you may end up dusting the turbo or motor. I’ve had one on mine for 3 years. No issues. Also judging by the whistle that turbo is making that is the stock GT32 turbo the 2011-14’s came with. When he showed the engine bay that’s a stock setup. Perhaps he could have upgraded to the 2015+ GT37 turbo like I did but they sound different. They don’t whistle and howl like the older smaller ones this 2011 came with did.

Ces999919822 They make delete "test pipes" that keep the tail pipe piece stock but simply get rid of the dpf filter. This would make it look stock just looking at the truck in say a parking lot or something. Also I would recommend a light tune or stock delete tune so that there is no obvious haze or black smoke clouds!! Lastly some sort of large muffler that makes the truck quiet wouldnt be a bad idea too!! Obviously this is off road use only! Thanks for the questions. Let me know if you have anymore!!

How much more carbon emissions does the truck have getting 14 mpg vs 20mpg over the life of the vehicle?? Then throw in the carbon emissions from regen itself...

Read some research where the particulates coming off of the "new" emission systems are so small (micron range) they lodge in lung tissue like fiberglass or asbestos (you know what that means). The larger "soot" particles do not enter into the cells and are removed out of the body. Kinda wondering if anyone else is familiar with this. I'd definitely get rid of the EGR too. It'll breathe and run even better after that. The EGR is basically running soot from the exaust right back through the intake. How good can that be for your engine? Delete dat shit!

Bruce Dreger what's that?
@mikz86ta16 жыл бұрын
O ly will roll coal in a heavy fuel tune with heavy throttle. It's not smart to do just people think it looks cool.

How much did it cost you total with everything to delete it?
@onewheelwonder257 жыл бұрын
Ryan McCarthy This set up here with the tuner, exhaust, muffler, and air intake cost $1,350. Tuner and exhaust would run you around 1000, depending on if you went with a delete pipe or full 4" or 5" system

Is this legal?
@brandonphillips1066 жыл бұрын
Depends on your state. But realistically no it's not legal. Will you go to jail. Not likely. Will you get fined sure. Illinois you can do it to none on road trucks. Commercial use vehicles it's a big fine to do it in Illinois unless you're a farmer and it's an off road vehicle. Most non-commercial vehicles can get by unnoticed in Illinois unless the county you live in tests emissions.

I hope the guy doesn't get caught going through California ...

How would he get caught in CA? My 97 7.3 is chipped and rolls coal if I lug it going up hill towing our trailer. The REAL secret is to stay out of CA at all costs. That state is F'd up!

Robert how? If he doesn't live there he doesnt have to follow their laws.
@RayT706 жыл бұрын
It's regulated by the EPA. That's why car manufacturers put it on in the first place.

You want your truck to last, go 300 to 500 thousand miles, rip out the EGR cooler and dpf systems, your wallet and truck will thank you!
