6 doors are pretty much custom so I doubt if Ford would do that,I do feel Ford will make Excursions again,one day...Don't really know why they stop making them in the first place🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

That is a v8... the v10 is still around but is only put in the commercial side of trucks

Oil fill cap said 5w20 on it.

I wouldn't pay attention to time unless it's going to be sitting for years. Just stick to 5k and you'll be good! :)

Ford Excursion is my favorite vehicle. Excursion is the best full-size SUV. It has bigger interior, larger cargo space & way better towing capability, than any SUVs have. Just compare, even new Suburban, Yukon XL, Escalade ESV, Navigator L or Expedition MAX. No competition. Excursion is the King & only new Excursion will be better. Ford must start producing new Excursions - the largest & the strongest SUV of all time. Just imagine, new Excursion body-on-frame heavy-duty largest & heaviest SUV with much more powerful new (gasoline & diesel) engines & transmission (from new Super Duty). More powerful, more fuel efficient, more durable, more comfortable & faster. New Excursion with all new exterior look & with way more quality new interior. Ford must do it. Before this, my choice is used Excursion.

Too many people want & need a new Ford Excursion.

Ford recommended viscosity is 5w20

Not for a 99 V10, owner’s manual and oil cap say 5-30. My Excursion was built in September 99.

@@TJ-qz6hr The production date (build year) is different than the model year. In your case, its production date is 1999, but its model year is 2000. I own a 2001 model year Excursion, but its production date is August 11, 2000. Refer to your vehicle certification (VC) label on the lower doorpost (a.k.a. B-post), behind the driver's door; or check the VIN plate that's located on the instrument panel, top-upper left of the dash. The 8th VIN position is the engine displacement and number of cylinders...an "S" code indicates that the engine is a 6.8L, SOHC, EFI, V10, Gas. These are modular designed engines. Their oil specs. require 6-quarts of Super Premium SAE 5w-20 Engine oil to meet Ford Specification WSS-M2C153-H (5-quarts if you are not replacing the oil filter). There was a technical service bulletin issued from Ford requiring a change in oil viscosity for those engines installed in the 2000 model year from 5w-30 to 5w-20. The publication date: 01-14-2002, article #2-1-9

5.7L V8 hemi uses 6 quarts too. Used in chargers, ram 1500 and 2500s. So 6 quarts is very standard for a big gasser.

That's wierd. 4qts doesn't sound like enough. I would just add oil until the level on the dipstick was acceptable.

The manual doesn't say 4 quarts for a v10. Reread it please. 6 quarts.

Must have an expedition or an explorer for whatever reason some people mix that up a lot the excursion is the super duty lineup I’m not sure what the oil quantity is for the explore or the expedition but the excursion is it’s own thing by itself so maybe that’s where he messed up and in that case he totally overfilled it LOL that’s a big oof

This is my parent's truck, original owners. It has 100k on it now and engine wise it has just had regular maintenance. Just had the trans rebuilt, but they towed a 10k pound camper quite a bit over the years.

None with the engine. The trans was rebuilt at ~100k. We did a lot of towing with it though.
