Yeah I believe I told you to wiggle it in the video as well but I may be mistaken I would be surprised if I forgot but it’s certainly possible sometimes I do. I’m glad AutoZone had that. If I remember correctly that plug was only about $10 though. I got mine from Aci in Grand Rapids Michigan

If you unplug it and it starts to work when you plug it back in it’s very possible that you have a bad ground , IJS just in case the other situation doesn’t work

Well because you remove the blower motor and then plugged in the new blower motor and it worked for one trip you more than likely have a bad ground or a bad connector try turning the system on wiggling the connector and see if the blower motor starts up if that doesn’t happen while the blower motor is in the run position hit it with your hand and see if it starts working if it does start working that means the blower motor you got is also defective

Hi Marcus you actually have two different problems unfortunately even though they seem like they’re the same thing they’re not your rear is different than your front The rear air is blowing cold because the blend door is not switching sorry it would be very technically involved to describe this over a text message. What do you mean it does not blow it all in the front? Your blower fan is not working? Find the location of the blower motor turn it on full and hit it with your hand if it starts working do you need a new blower motor if it doesn’t you need to check for power going to it unfortunately that’s the best advice I can give you over text message I’m sure if you took it to the shop they would be able to solve the problem very quickly the things that you were talking about are very common problems with automobiles

I can’t say for certain but it looks like it, Ford part number WPT 688 , or you can buy a Dorman 973-302, which is the blower motor resistor and the harness, but if you just want the harness I believe it’s a Dorman 645-403 that is the standalone wiring harness I recommend just take your blower motor resistor out and take it to the part store with you and ask them for the Dorman connector and see if it plugs in but I’m pretty sure I’m correct. The part I ordered had no heat sink it was just a circuit board and plug - I have ordered a new part that seems to be correct this time with heat sink included

Yeah that heat shrink is super super important It’s also important that it is installed because the blower motor blows cool air across the heat sink . Running out for a second won’t hurt anything but it needs to be installed if you run it for longer than 10 seconds or so

Well you could’ve blown a fuse because your blower motor resistor went bad and was pulling too much amperage, I can’t be for certain over a text message Your rear air conditioner works fine because they’re two separate units, The good thing about your story is the air conditioner itself is still working but more than likely the blower motor is defective or the blower motor resistor, It’s very common for the blower motor resistor to go bad like I had in this video because they pull so much power to run the fan

I would believe that this would because either by a bad ground or a broken wiring harness so I would double check it or it is possible that it has a defective blower motor the next time it shuts off hit the blower motor with your hand and see if it comes back on if it comes back on get down there and wiggle the wiring harness and make sure that it doesn’t turn on and off as you do that to know for certain I hope that information helps you I wish you the best

@@sharpcarcoI replaced the blower resistor and the harness I checked the motor, motor runs fine and so now I replace the climate control panel and it's still fluctuating with the speed of the fan. Any other ideas?

Well hello Dallas, i’m from Dallas to wish I still lived there even though it’s hot as heck during the summer. Sounds to me like your blower motors actually bad not your blower motor resistor. Because the only thing that would make it work other than loose wires when you hit it would be the electric motor making contact with the Magnets on the top of the motor that’s my opinion for what it’s worth I could be wrong

Well you get that mild amount of air because of air flowing into the box and flowing through it. It does seem a little bit deceiving even though it’s not working , it’s really not working , I would have to guess that your control panel or your blower fan is defective.

No I definitely think it’s a possibility that the blower motor fan is bad I was just saying it could be one of the three things in the line Highly possible: blown fuse /Bad connection (burnt wiring melted wiring) or blower motor (fan) Possible defective control panel. Less likely blower motor resistor…… but good possibility that the wires going to the blower motor resistor are melted. This pulls a high level of amperage

It could be but you should take a hammer and hit the bottom of the blower motor and if it starts working then you need a new blower motor that’s quick simple and painless

@@sharpcarco I have a 2011, have clicking in the dash. Changed both actuators, still clicks. Now the blower stopped. I hit it like you mention above and it started back. Sounds like blower, would that also stop the clicking?

More than likely the clicking is from the blender door actuator skipping and needs to be replaced and it sounds like you also need a blower motor two separate issues

i have exactly the same thing! oddly, using the cruise control buttons, and also bumps in the road make the fan cut on/off. really frustrating especially now in the hot season.

Well look underneath your glove box and there will be two wires going to it they will be large wires and it will be around it generally has three screws holding it in . I’m sorry I wish I could be more specific I hope that little bit is helpful . Have a good night

Hello .make sure you know right where motor is. So the next time it won’t come on. Hit the motor with your hand or a hammer ( make sure it is supposed to be on) if it starts after hitting it you need a new motor.... if it don’t you more than likely need a resister or controller ( more than likely Resister . Hope that helps

Yeah I have a 2007 expedition I’m assuming it’s the same one that’s in the video if we leave the park for a long time like say the next day we go to start it the fan kicks right on with no problem and if we’re driving around is fine but then when we go to start it again it won’t come on right away is it takes a long time and then eventually it comes back on do you think it is the resister and where is the resister located at

Sorry not getting back to you sooner it sounds like you have two wires that are melted together this is a common problem when the blower motor resistor goes bad so look closely for that

Ford has a TSB on that issue . TSB 08-9-1

🤔 think , The video is not titled blower motor resistor replacement. It’s titled “Blower motor not working” I’m certain if I made that video today it would be completely different I would’ve showed you how to take the two screws out that hold it up underneath the dash near the blower motor. Probably back then when I was making videos I didn’t consider that somebody wouldn’t see the wires hanging down on the passenger side. I assume I would have just thought they would poke their head up underneath there to see where it’s at. Back then I didn’t know that people we’re not all that smart obviously I was very ignorant back then. And there’s a considerable amount of times that I’m ignorant even now. But I like to think that my videos have improved. And I will show little things like that I even show people what size extensions to use… on this video I haven’t had many comments like this , most of the time I get comments like this is awesome thank you very much I’ve never had anybody tell me that I did not show them how to replace it but I can remember. “If you’re trying to blow someone’s candle out it’s not going to make yours brighter ”
