Thanks for the tip. Of course, I broke the outer pivots on the glove box before I realized those stupid white pins were removable. They are very hard to move. Even with the ‘now broken’ glovebox removed with the pins in plain sight, I had to use a flat blade screw driver to pry and get them to slide. And for the filter cover, the right side release is a little tough to access too. Lots of 4 letter words. Fortunately, it seems that all the other pivots along the center of the glove box are adequate to support the box so I have not had to replace/repair the broken pivots. What a terrible, poorly serviceable design.

Hard to remove was an understatement. After I got my pins out I realized Ford is a 4 letter word.

Thanks Jeff! This video is exactly what I have been looking for after I broke the first glovebox. Ugh... We also have a problems with mice getting into the air intake area. I’ve had to clean that out twice now, including a dead mouse this time.

The pins slid easily, they slid all the way out. Now I can't put them back in. Any ideas?

On my 2013 Explorer, I left the pins out and the glovebox seemed to open & close just fine without them.

None of the videos I have watched, shows how difficult it is to replace the white hinge pins. One video maker said it was easy. It may be for some cars but then, others the hinge hole will not line up and the hinge pin will not go into the hinge hole on the glove box door!

Yep. I broke the right pin on my glovebox pushing it down too far.

I bought a used 2018 Ford Explorer Limited last year (2019) I thought that I would change the cabin filter today so I watched your video and dug in. Everything went fine until I tried to remove the white clips. I couldn't find them. After hopelessly looking and feeling for about 30 minutes I finally found them. In the glovebox by themselves. So I removed the glovebox and found that whoever last tried to change it just broke the glovebox out without removing the white pins. (Did you do that TopdownMX5?) The fixed holes where the pins fit into are both broken. But not to be outdone when I removed the cap to remove the old filter, the cap came off but there was no filter inside. Geez! I've got it all put back together and I'm going to try to install the pins into the cracked holes. (1 hour later) Couldn't force the pins back in but the glovebox works just fine without them.
