A. It's OBD 2. Not ODB. On-Board Diagnostics. B. Don't get a $120-150 scanner if you have an Android smartphone. Instead buy an ELM-based OBD2 bluetooth adapter. Search Amazon for. They're $10-25 plus Torque Pro app for another roughly $10. Much better since it's one less tool, gives easier visibility, etc. C. This isn't worth it. There's a kit for $200 that fixes this problem because the bore for the pistons wears off. So, buy the replacement kit instead of keep having the transmission problems that will eventually cause more additional problems. It's a fix that any backyard mechanic can do. Anyone with a crowbar, wrench and socket set, and 90-degree needle-nose pliers can do it with or without a lift. RI has the state inspections too. First you get your plates and then go for the inspection. Literally the day I got my plates the damn light comes on as I am driving to the inspection place so I called a mechanic and he quoted me $2200 to fix. The car is 17 years old and not even worth $500. Ford just had to seal the trans. Ugggg. Bastard of a code is about right

ok I have a 2002 lincoln with the same code and what you were saying about you're car shifting I have to do it the same way I have had the car since 2015 it drives great and all I have to do it take off easy and let off to let it shift at times but it isa great car but the transmission light comes on and this is the only code coming up

OK what you describe on how to fool an emission test is true. Works in many states and for many codes. All but one monitor set will work. BUT the $10 is not a "price" it is a module ID # in OBDII. Sorry that solenoid is way more expensive than that.

Ok I wrote you a while ago about passing an emissions test and I bought the machine stuff like you said and I don't know if you recall but I told you that I went to take an emissions test and I failed due to monitors on my drive cycle saying "not ready". I needed a tune-up and that's why it was doing that. Well I have a machine that I can test all this on and all week all my monitors have been saying "ready". Well this morning I go to run another test just to ensure I'm going to pass inspection this morning and now all of my monitors are saying "ready"except for my cat. Now I know you're allowed one monitor to say "not ready". however my question is can my cat say "not ready" as long as my other ones are saying "ready" and will I pass that way??? Also why after repairing the car and all my monitors have said "ready" for a week but now on the day I am going to inspection now everything is saying "ready" expect for the cat??? It makes no sense.

This fixes nothing & you're into half-axxed actions. In GA, the Inspection process is a lot smarter than that scam. That won't fly - the system here catches that 'loophole'. Anyway, why not use your brain to actually get to the root cause (& it doesn't take much thought to do that for this issue). Yes, you'll spend some money, but you won't have to con your way every time you need an inspection....and really, it's just a matter of time before your State's Inspection system weeds out the scamming.
