They put this motor in the Ford "school van/ public van transport" vehicles I do electrical work on. Believe it or not they even use it in the full size busses. Says rousch on the engine block. It's enough for a full size school bus but kinda slower in that but In a van it rips

Cheaper alternative to someone who doesn't need tow more than 16000 lbs.. Diesel engines have higher maintenance more They're more expensive initial cost. In the case of Ford, it is a $9000 option. Just 2 equip the same truck with a 6.7 diesel.
@dieseldawgzdriverslounge
@dieseldawgzdriverslounge 2 ай бұрын
The dpf on the diesel can cost over $10K to replace and you will replace it... Plus it's $10K up front injectors are failing at $5K per set and you can't idle it for long terms or you will clog up the DPF filter.
@Adventureswithmike1
@Adventureswithmike1 Ай бұрын
@evilhenchmen9594 It's actually everything. Diesel fuels more expensive. And overall regular maintenance is more expensive plus like you said, the up charge for the diesel engine. If you're not gonna be towing over 15 or 16000 pounds like I said before. It really is not. A good option because most people only use their truck for part time work

Chevrolet and GMC had the same delaminating camshaft / lifter problem on the 6.2L in the Class 1 (1500) trucks. It is NOT a Ford, GM or Mopar problem. Instead, it is a THIRD PARTY parts supplier company caused problem.
@15Jeep
@15Jeep Жыл бұрын
@@Adventureswithmike1 I had a 2019 F350 with the 6.2L and sold it to order a 2022 F350 7.3L Tremor. The 6.2L is SOHC design, which has a higher RPM sweet spot compared to the 7.3L Push Rod design with a lower RPM power band...which is a much better engine platform for a heavy duty truck. Many individual truck owners, companies, corporations...along with city, county, state and federal governments are replacing their diesel engine Class 2 (F250 / 2500) and Class 3 (F350 / 3500) trucks with the same Class that has a gas engine. Ford's life blood is TRUCKS. Therefore, Ford will address and fix any serious long term problems associated with the 7.3L or new 6.8L gas engines. In addition, the aftermarket will start building higher quality parts to replace any short lived components and parts.

Ford didnt become garbage until about the time the 5.4 3 valve came out and then the Ecotrash engine was unleashed on the truck world and then they started using rubber oil pump belts LMAO. Now all 3 are garbage. Even the turbo Tundra from Toyota is trash compared to the excellent last gen trucks. Old rigs are the way forward.
