Thanks for watching! One thing I forgot to mention is the cost of this car. New, my car here was around $32,000 AUD ($22,000 USD), an XR6 turbo variant was around $48,000 AUD ($33,000 USD), and XR8 V8 Supercharged was around $54,000 AUD ($37,500 USD). Sedan variants were about the same cost +/- $1-2k AUD

The blame for the death of the Big Aussie cars can be laid in part at the feet of every clown who bought a 4WD for towing the boat, taking the kids to school, doing the shopping, going as far off-road as their front lawn...

Recently got a manual FG-X XR6 ute. I love it to death. Juuuust the right amount of power to bang through the gears and still remain within the bounds of the law 😂🤙 Gorgeous gearbox to shift through too. Great review!

The BF XR 6 Turbo or BF MK2 Tornado FPV manual transmission models are worth money, but the stock models no. It's the same story with the early Ford and Holden muscle cars, they have high collecters value if they are put into storage with low kilometres on the clock, and Redbook valuation does not lie, ask any car dealer. A stock standard automatic transmission ute isn't going to cut the mustard 40 years from now, it really doesn't matter if it was the last model made or not and the FG Falcon front end looks much less aggressive and toned down than the BA and BF XR 6 and 8 models. You will want the models fitted with the polished sports bar for higher value, keep your owners manual and manufacturers plate fitted in Broadmeadows in good condition, same goes for Holden HSV , make sure that they have the Elizabeth GMH plates kept in good condition, so future buyers can easily identify their authenticity

Should do a comparison between style side versus tray back. The tray back is the last of the Australian made one tonner. Style side utes look great but don’t have much of a weight limit for loads. Also tray back utes are generally 2400 long which equals 8 feet. That’s a great size for a utility vehicle. Having said that style side utes can be easily fitted with a canopy which is great for camping, fishing or shooting trips. Anyway just an idea. By the way FG stands for fucking great.

Hey mate , ive got a bf falcon wagon , with petrol engine , and get around 9l per 100km highway . And around 12l per per 100km around town including towing the boat . Driving fairly conservatively Not bad . Bang for your buck , considering the low 2nd hand price of these cars .

Those were the best years, home grown Australian Ford Falcons range. Australia should start making Motor vehicles, superior quality, different types of styles. I miss the Ford vehiles and supercars racing isn't the same and haven't watched a race this year. The utes should have been make with 4x4 drive, they are wider and longer, cheaper to purchase than the Ford Ranger's.

If you add the EVC throttle controller. You'll notice the laggy auto spring to life & hold gear changes better. More throttle response & acceleration etc. Pretty lame in stock form. Makes all the difference. I was fortunate to have mine come with LSD as standard & you get the 1 tonne suspension & 2300kg towing capacity too. These are a great machine & don't use the semi=auto function if you want the auto to last as it locks the torque convertor which wears the box ;)
