This is my mom's 2014 ford focus 2.0 , The transmission has no reverse / delayed reverse . We replace shift actuator "B" .

The clutch fork rod underneath these solenoids are what commonly get stuck.. there are vids on YT showing how to spray them with brake clean, then lubricant, then work them back n forth (its a threaded rod, be careful) until they are no longer 'stuck' in position. Its what you do if you get the 'clutch fork a/b stuck' code, they need worked free to move the fork again.

I spun mine and all the sudden the Spring gave away. Now the shaft is loose in the hole

Do you have to relearn the clutch touchpoints with forscan? Or can you just run it?

The other issue is the tcm there is not six for it because it's a dry not wet dual clutch system. The only fix is new TCM but then that will go out eventually. Basically ford focus and the fiesta are broken 2012 to 2018 I believe.

Shudder is the TCM, transmission control module. Dry clutch. Thanks for the informative video

Ford Tech in another video said do 5 full throttle runs 1st throught 3rd to scrub the clutch to get rid of shudder. Yes I did that and shudder was reduduced even one at times.

I did the swap as you informed me that they are the same part but the reverse is still not engaging Drive and First will engage do you think it might be the tcm?

Before do any check fluid right or see if it cvt fluid then if bad or not maintenance mean internal transmission is bad

Just put new A and B actuator on my 2012 ford focus but my car is still not driving right I'm still getting stuck when I'm at a red light for a few seconds and it's still jumping a little bit

Seems like the tcm has 2 motors in it as well that actually shift the gears

Tuve la misma situación con mi Ford focus 2016, baja tensión, eso originó que el Tcm no diera la función de reversa y alta revolución en el cambio de marcha, el módulo trabaja con un voltaje de 12,5, y la batería daba 11,3, tenía una batería de 55 amperes, la cambie por una de 60 y el problema desapareció, solo el vehículo eliminó el check engine y quedó con todas las marchas sin problema, espero que les sirva

hola jaime, a mi se me quito la falla poniendole la bateria nueva hace dos semanas, le limpie las tierras y quedo funcionando bien, hoy me empezo a haver la misma falla, la bateria que le coloque es la original, crees que colocandole la bateria de mayor amperaje pueda solucionar el problema ?

Did you replace the top actuator also? I have same issue i bring it to ford they said its the tcm.. they change it but still not reversing so i think its the actuator

no . just the lower one .

The bottom actuator works the reverse, so no need for the top (A) unless your beginning gears aren't working right. I'm having the P090C code for actuator B control circut low. Would this be that connector with the yellow tab you took off having a possible low voltage?

Clean the forks and if that doesn’t work after installing the new actuators try to drill method

@Discount @10:20/11:12 the shudder problem can be fixed by performing "Scrubbibg The Clutch" on the backroads (0-60mph)

We are having no reverse and getting a transmission fault alarm. We replaced the TCM module and it was fine then went out again. Is this also in relation to this?

Same thing happened to me just had my tcm replaced at dealership then 3 days later same issue I'm about to replace both actuators I'll let you know what happens

Its not just the tcm or servo motors. They drive the clutch forks. The clutch fork mechanism gets gummed up with clutch dust and jam or stick, that's what can cause no shift to reverse also. A simple clean by removing the motors and brake clean spray then some spray lube will get it going normally again. You will need a couple of tools to do the job . A very good KZfaq available explaining it all in detail.

FYI the shudder in 1st gear is from the tcm' and have a 150,000 mile warranty on them from a class action lawsuit on these trannys. You must wait for it to die completely before Ford will replace it for nothing. NOTE: when mine went it caused a no start problem that seemed like a battery issue but was the TCM.

I have a 2016 and also called dealership and said they couldn't do anything or said there wasn't a recall for my VIN #

Just changed actuator b. No reverse at all. I have to turn off the car a couple times wait and reverse will work then it will stop going to reverse

The shutter issue had a recall for that issue. Dual clutch crap.

When this happens, put the trans in S mode to drive it around and replace the TCM

I put a new transmission in my 2018 Ford Focus. The car won't start. I get an error codes $7E9 and $7E8. Have you ever encountered this issue? The car turns over but does not start.
